  • Wow, Crawford is just adding another Elite Hall of Famer to his resume... after this one, Crawford will leave no doubt that he's the GOAT.

10 years ago, I would have picked Luis to pull off the upset.

      • Crawford needs to face Ocampo a 135lber or KO artist Chris Algieri

At least, this puts Spence (March 16th) and Bud (March 23rd) on the same timeline.
Errol Spence Jr is on a timeline with the Porter-Ugas winner, just like Keith Thurman is on a timeline for the Pacquiao-Broner winner. Don't deceive yourself.

The only thought/consideration should be if Luis Collazo is a better opponent now than Kavailuaskas.

we know that bur Haymon has nothing to do with this deal. Collazo has a manager and a promoter.

Haymon can’t block the fight. Just like when GBP took khan and Chavez for Canelo. They didn’t deal with Haymon. Haymon just took his cut at the end. Just like jacobs and khan going to Matchroom. Haymon wasn’t involved.

Haymon just keeps his name with them to make his influence look even bigger.

Vargas fought last month. It's like everyone rushed to try to get a fight in by the end of the year.

Haymon definitely has influence. These “promoters” like TGB, Dibella Entertainment, Mayweather Promotions etc are just vehicles to avoid Haymon being prosecuted under the Ali Act.

I’m not saying this a any huge ground break in the Arum-Haymon Cold War, but the fact that a Arum fighter is fighting a Haymon fighter is definitely a positive step forward in relations between the two.

But what you're saying is exactly why, of all sources, BoxRec really needs to be trusted over others like TBRB where a human is using their "eye test" to sway the result despite everything else.

I know that it frustrates people that Manny Pacquiao got beat by a school teacher out in Australia and 6 of 8 officials from around the world agreed with the decision, thus catapulting The Hornet to #1 until Crawford beat him. But that ranking was fair given who he beat. After Floyd retired, that only left Manny after he beat Bradley in the rubber match. Unless Manny was overrated, but I don't think people would say he was, given who he'd beat over time.

Now, fact is, Crawford, by STOPPPAGE, beat the man who beat the man...making Crawford #1. But that's based on who The Hornet beat - largely Manny, but also (whether people disregard them or not) Randall Bailey and Ali Funeka, guys who both had decent resumes.

The other problem is, as much as it bothers people, age is not considered in resume. You're a named, quality fighter or you're not. It doesn't matter how old you are or were at the point you got beat. By that logic Joe Calzaghe should not be considered an ATG because he not only got dropped by three washed fighters, he basically lost to Hopkins. Instead, he's praised for beating named fighters in Roy Jones, Bernard Hopkins and Chris Eubank.
Does anyone give him full credit for the Roy Jones win? That was a cherry pick if I've ever saw one.

Ok fine, ffs. I didn't even mention Brook. I mentioned Khan. I mentioned the possibility of at least fighting a top 25 or 50 guy??? Look, I am a huge Crawford fan, but if I were to attempt to justify this match-up, I would be an idiot.
