Because it wouldn't generate money? It's simple logic. Hearn tried his best to make a buzz about Ortiz but Ortiz failed to impress the casuals and thus there were better options for Joshua to fight.
Wilder on the other hand isn't in a situation where he's generated loads and after a long tenure as champion needed a statement win and thus the Ortiz fight made sense for him. Gave his insecure fanbase something to cling to as well.Comment

He had his shot and failed. A rematch isn't a fight I'd complain about but he's got to be realistic, Wilder has the Fury rematch and then the Breazeale mandatory and Joshua as well. Best case scenario Wilder refuses to fight Joshua and he fights Ortiz in early 2020 at the age of 40-41, worst case scenario Wilder fights Fury, Breazeale, Joshua, Joshua again in a rematch, then fights his next mandatory in early 2021, if it's not him then he fights Wilder in late 2021 at the age of 42.
If Ortiz really wants to fight Wilder sooner he'll need to step up his game, nobody will care about him if he keeps fighting guys like Cojanu and Kaufmann. He should try and secure a fight with Breazeale to get the WBC mandatory but in all honesty he brings nothing to the table for Breazeale to risk it.Comment

I wish he would quit crying for a rematch. He was legitimately knocked out. Yes he hurt wilder but he's the first real non bum wilder fought so of course he was going to struggle with him. If he keeps winning then he'll get a rematch eventually. Wether wilder can beat Fury and Joshua is another topic for discussion.Comment
