However in America it just seems that they have fallen out of love for boxing ever since Floyd mayweather retired.

The reason I say this is because Deontay Wilder vs Tyson Fury is doing awful ticket selling wise. How can a fight this huge fail to sell tickets. Yes, it's an easy fight for wilder and wilder will knock Fury out easily but that's not the point. Deontay Wilder is an American, this fight has had huge publicity and the hype around this fight has been one of the biggest.

Yet it's failing to sell tickets, why?

If this fight was in the UK, this would have sold out within the first week.

    Are you in/from the UK?
Boxing has been a lull in America since Tyson - Lewis. De La Hoya kept Mexican fans fed. Mayweather just gave casuals a reason to think they know about boxing. Manny, Mosley, Bradley and Marquez re-established interest, so now it's almost back. Wilder v.s. Joshua needs to happen and boxing will be popular, but also, we have way more sports than any other country. We have Major League Soccer, American Football, the NBA, The NHL, the UFC, College Sports, Golf, Tennis and even ESports on TV.
MMA is not heavily prominent in the UK like it is in the USA.

America(us)rarely gives any worthwhile boxing event. Since gaymon, ameeican fighters get no hype, fighters cherrypick and stay protected more than ever. It's usually the foreigners with the i'll fight anyone mentality and actually coming to fight on fight night.

Boxing could easily come back with the quickness if the american talent pool was properly handled.

Once DAZN branches out in to non combat sports and becomes a staple for all sports fans, then perhaps boxing will get more exposure. But yes, PPV for all good fights is short sighted.

Not many sports to compete with boxing in the UK. You have football and then it's either a choice of boxing, darts or snooker and I know Brits who would rather watch darts than the ****fest Hearn puts on.

All the sport have are random fighters. Fans have no one to follow. No continuation to the story. It's a now you see them now you don't thing. And when they re-appear, they're fighting the same low-level opponent. Fans have nothing to look forward to. It's sad.
