Calzaghe and Jones apparently shared amateur stories and found MANY similarities.

Here's what Jones said on BBC Radio Five Live shortly after Calzaghe/Lacy: "He keeps proving himself again and again and again. I don't know why he gets so many critics, what's the big problem? You can't blame him for not leaving his countries, it's too dodgy if you go elsewhere, you know what I'm saying? He's fought so many good guys, Chrissy Eubanks, Woodhall, Charles Brewer, the kid from Alabama, now Jeff. That was wonderful (against Lacy), wonderful."
How in the hell is this article going to shut US AMERICANS up...actually you sound real ****** for the title of your thread..i dont play the race card on this site and so shouldnt you.....no doubt the post is cool because its just real recognizing real....being american or whatever you are should be included in this article....now if this thread is directed towards a few dudes that have been *******s towards you then i'm sorry.

Nobody knew who Hopkins was when Jones fought him. Toney was coming out of hospital.

Jones defended his titles against nobody when he could of pushed harder to defend against the likes of Nunn, Benn, McClellan, and Chris Eubank.

But that's what makes him so special. It threw everybody off when he was an amateur if his opponent hadn't seen him fight before, call him an 'arm puncher' all you like but it's damn effective! The speed he generates with his shots is amazing, and by the way all Enzo Calzaghe fighters use that punching technique.

At what point? When he was fighting at SMW? Why?

Fighting McCallum before moving up in weight is not a bad idea.

Roy moved up to Light heavyweight and defended the title 10 times before moving to heavyweight to fight Ruiz.

Tiozzo even moved up in weight, more than likely avoiding Jones.

Why should someone hang around at 168, when they have the prospect of being the main man at 175?

Oh and Jones ducking Benn, Eubank, and Nunn is just hilarious. It's so ridiculous and unwarranted it's not even funny.

Are you messing about or something?

Your actually asking WHY he should of fought Benn, McClellan, Nunn or Eubank?? You've lost me.

Hey, there are very few posters here who seems to fit that. And believe me these people are not fans of the sports.

fact is most white fighters lack skill & could'nt carry the top guys jockstraps on their best day. calz is an exception, he has talent & flair in his boxin that is a rarity among the white guys
