In all seriousness, this Fury/Wilder fight has backfired pretty badly

Not good enough.
I will be surprised if he wins a world title.
Here's hoping though.
Boxing in Australia is crap.
Too many wives don't won't their sons or daughters to get into the sport because it's too brutal apparently.
The mindset of these parents are " oh don't let my Johnny get hurt".
Pathetic.Comment

If Fury dominates Wilder, is AJ the biggest loser out of this? They made this fight to try and increase Wilders percieved value in an AJ fight by fighting the guy they figured would sell the most tickets and PPV's outside of AJ himself
But two weeks to go and they have only opened half the arena and are going to be giving away tickets?
IT's embarrasing man, and I know wilder fanboys are going to come in making excuses and talking trash, but it is what it is. It's backfired and left egg on wilders face.
They need to hope the PPV does ok because if it's a half full arena with poor ppv numbers they are gonna be a laughing stock, and it's not like they can go up from here.Comment

It was always a gamble. There was a reason why this fight didn't happen in Vegas, the casino's were skeptical that this fight would sell well, neither were proven draws. Wilder's only fight in Vegas against Stiverne only drew about 4074 paying fans and a live gate of $755,200 USD.
The tickets were obviously over priced but it's not like this hasn't happened before. Holyfield/Foreman and Lewis/Tyson had tickets that were over priced at the time which weakened sales but they still did over 17K sales. The demand simply wasn't there, they could of slashed prices and I still think it could not of sold out.
Wilder fans will make excuses saying this and that, but fact is if in 2 weeks this PPV bombs Wilder will need to drop his demand for 50/50. If he doesn't it's a duck pure and simple, because it will have shown that there isn't the interest in Wilder that he or even Hearn thought there was and Hearn can forget about AJ conquering America because the demand from US sports fans for a heavyweight champion star doesn't exist.Comment
