78-2018 cuts out all the old timers like Robinson, Ali,Frazier, Foster,Moore, etc etc.


There is a lot of good candidates.Off the top of my head I see
Leonard/Duran/Hearns/Hagler/Jones/Lewis/Holyfield/Floyd/Pac etc etc


I'll probably finalize with

Jones

The order can be shuffled around but these are clearly the top 5.

If you asked me tomorrow you might get a completely different order but the names would be the same.

I favored historical significance for this. For example with Holyfield's case you've often heard he is the only 4 time HW champion. That's more impressive than repeating a record that hadn't been done since 1899...which is what Roy did for those who don't know. However, that's not actually the truth. Evander repeated a record that hadn't been done since 540 BC. Which while less impressive than ever it is still more impressive than 1899.


....also, shoot I'd probably get away with it but I'll go ahead and tell on myself all the same. I am a johnny reb. Born in dixie, raised in dixie, live in dixie presently. Evander, Roy, and Sugar are all from...yeah...Dixie. So maybe I am bias as well....but ain't been done since 540 BC has to mean something doesn't it?
