Mikey garcia has the biggest balls of anyone in boxing right now. He stepped up to a new weight class and went right after one of the top 2 fighters and definitely the most feared fighter in the division. That's chasing greatness. Not like some other dude who's moving up a weight class and fighting the #9 ranked fighter in that division, who was previously ko'd in 1 round, just because there's a paper title at stake that he wants to claim & pretend he's a 3 division world champion.

I'm a Canelo fan and I'll agree with you to an extent....
He just had a war with Triple g two months ago and he's coming back next month so that's a quick turnaround so I have no problem with Canelo Fighting Fielding since he's in a different weight division and much bigger than Canelo.
But I'll agree with you that he's fighting Fielding just to collect another piece of shet belt in another weight division just so that he can say he's a three division champion.
That's bullshet!
If he really wants to be recognized as a three division champion then he should of went after Smith, Zurdo, or another top level fighter, not no fuccing Rocky Fielding!

They didn't stop Porter, Porter *****ed out after all that talk in the ring. Ugas was never his mandatory.

NEW YORK – Shawn Porter and Errol Spence Jr. sat a few feet apart early Sunday morning.

The welterweight champions both stated during Porter’s post-fight press conference that they want to fight each other next. Whether that actually happens might not be up to them.

The WBC could order Porter to make a mandatory defense of the welterweight title he won Saturday night versus Yordenis Ugas in his next bout. Cuba’s Ugas earned a title shot by defeating Argentina’s Cesar Barrionuevo by unanimous decision on the Porter-Danny Garcia undercard at Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

If Porter (29-2-1, 17 KOs) makes his first title defense against Ugas (23-3, 11 KOs), Spence could face Mikey Garcia because unlike Porter, Spence isn’t due to make a mandatory defense of his IBF 147-pound title. If it happens, a bout between Spence (24-0, 21 KOs) and Mikey Garcia (39-0, 30 KOs) isn’t likely to take place until early in 2019.

That story came out less than 48 hrs. after Porter vs. Garcia! I want to believe your version of the story, but if the WBC doesn't come out and publicly correct Porter, then I expect them to have the same energy (blocking a unification) when it comes to Canelo Alvarez!

It's easy to say he wants to fight Spence when they both have fights scheduled with other fighters.
It's a shame that Mikey being two weight classes below the welterweight division has more balls than Porter, Thurman, and Danny Garcia put together...
He actually stepped up and took the Spence fight instead of just saying he wants the fight,....

Porter has a better resume than Spencer. Spencer best opponent brooks and a over the hill Patterson. Mickey is moving up to avoid Loma.
