I like Mikey as a fighter. But..... I'm doubting all this talk about legacy. That is for his fans.

Him saying that he has spotted weaknesses in Spence is also for the fans - though every fighter has some kind of weak point.

He is a businessman first and fighter second. This fight does double or even triple the money of a Loma fight as Loma is still largely unknown except to hardcore fans.

If Garcia was ALL about legacy he'd fight Loma as that is a more winnable fight and this is an almost impossible win (but the money is so good) and there is little future earnings downside as long as his corner pull him out before too much damage is done. Whereas a loss to Loma would impact on future earnings.

I'm a huge Mikey fan and nobody was asking for this fight, except Mikey himself.
Mikey's fans weren't asking for this fight so he's not doing it for the fans.
Yes I'm sure he's getting paid handsomely for this fight but this is a legacy fight for him. That's why he's fighting Spence.
While I'm a Mikey fan and I'll be rooting for him I sure as fucc wouldn't put no money on him winning this fight.
Spence is a beast and I think he'll stop Mikey between 7-9 rounds.

Why couldn’t they have made it earlier you reckon?

Well beause they have 2 other PPV fights coming up in Dec. and January.

Factor that with College Football Bowl Games and then the NFL Playoffs with a Superbowl in Feb.

Mickey's best chance is to run like he did vs. Orlando Salido and hope Spence breaks his Toucan Sam nose, forcing a corner stoppage by the doctor.

Mikey isn't necessarily wrong but it's still hard to imagine him winning. I'm a huge Garcia fan but I don't consider him the dominant force in this era. This isn't a supremely gifted Mayweather moving up and taking on a young, hungry, untested Canelo. Spence is only a few years younger and seem to be even more dominant in his wins. It's one thing to beat another fighter but Spence is breaking his opponents will. No doubt Mikey will have success but the longer the fight goes the harder it will get for him. I hope it doesn't end in some controversial manner where one of them has an injury and the front runner gets the nod.

Whatever the motivation, I give props to Mikey for pursuing and getting this fight made. He is undefeated and is willing to risk that thing that is so valuable in today's age of boxing, an unblemished record.

I'm not sure how he wins this one. I'd give him a better chance against a different style of fighter but Spence is agressive, physical and skilled. His weakness is that he gives up some defense to unload his offensive pressure. The problem is I'm not sure Mikey can take advantage of that; I'm skeptical his power will carry like that.

People shouldn't begrudge Spence either. He wanted a Marquee fight and had an undefeated, multi weight class champion pursuing him. If he declined the same people calling mismatch would be claiming Spence ducked Garcia. Can't have it both ways gents.

I will watch this fight because it is compelling. While I think I know what will happen, Garcia's confidence has me wonder if he knows something we don't know...I want to find out.
