Ward was just a better boxer, but Ward also claimed this was his toughest fight and I've seen a snippet which I can't can't find now where he says something like 'watch the fight again - I almost lost'.

I think that even though Froch was outclassed Ward was kinda taken aback by his tenacity... if you watch again you'll see a coupla times in the championship rounds where Ward glances up at the clock like 'how long I gotta keep this guy off me?'

I don’t disagree and I’m far from a fan girl but the fact of the matter is it’s down to the ref to properly enforce the rules. If they allow ward to foul Why is he going to change how he fights when it’s effective

Ward is better, there's no doubting that but I know who I preferred watching. The Pascal fight, both kessler fights and the first groves fight were pure entertainment and the same can't be said for many ward fights.

when you are the a-side and always fight at home you know the ref isn't going to enforce the rules. why do you think he wanted all his fights at home in the super six while froch fought in 4 different countries? why do you think he turned down any big fight that made him travel? the point is we should draw attention to it and criticize it not enable it and pretend oh well its going to happen anyway because once it gets to a certain point the refs are simply goin to bite their tongue for the "good of boxing" and let the cheating happen

i think we have been somewhat effective as wards popularity never caught on due to his cheating style along with his droopy face and boring personality, but we can be even more effective and prevent these kind of frauds from ever gaining prominence if we stop it before they reach a-side level where they control things and generate money. this is my speculation but i think the heat got to ward and he always felt like he got away with one every time he fought and he retired prematurely without doing everything he wanted because of the fouling and controversial fights which became ever more apparent

Watched this the other night and really enjoyed it. Quality performance by Ward, humbling the arrogant Froch by proving he was on a much higher level.

This Ward saltiness is just embarrassing, I’ve never been a Ward fan, stylistically or personally but I’m willing to give him credit where it’s due
