  • Comments Thread For: Hearn Sees Numerous Options For Usyk's Debut at Heavyweight

Oleksandr Usyk wants a rest before he decides on his next move. The Ukrainian former Olympic champion is a man of few words and it took him just one to confirm his intentions for the next 12 months. Usyk retained his WBC, WBA Super, IBF, WBO and Ring Magazine world cruiserweight titles on Saturday night, knocking out Tony Bellew inside eight rounds at Manchester Arena.

Joseph Parker is the clear, big, but not too big move to make. Del Boy is too low a ladder to climb.

After Whyte loses to Joshua (or Del Boy cuz I don't think Dec. 22 is a lock for Whyte) in April maybe he'd make sense for Usyk's 2nd fight. I'm assuming if Usyk moves to HW next it'll happened before Whyte is free again doe.

The rest aren't sexy enough opponents right now. Just not worth the risk for the upside they'd bring. Parker just held a HW title & is highly beatable by Usyk.

Povetkin makes sense. He's small and on his way out anyway.

Don't think Eddie wants to sacrifice any of "his" guys to Usyk. I'm guessing Takam, followed by Parker, then Joshua
