He's a CW Loma. It's no coincidence, as they train together. He takes 3-4 rounds to learn his opponent, gets a good feel of the situation, and then just piles the pressure on and on. When he ups the pace, his opponents are already fading out and fatiguing by then.

Usyk and Ward have so many similarities in style, it shocks me that more people don't see it. I think it's because they can't see past the color. So many Usyk fans hate Ward and vice versa.
I'm a big fan of both. I just don't know how Usyk is going to handle HW where the punches come much harder...

His ONLY chance is against that robot Joshua if he wants a belt. He can't take out Fury, Wilder, or even some of the beefier, lesser guys like Miller.

Bellew was countering well but Usyk disregarded a lot of those shots. With AJ it'll be more of a middle of the ring fight which will definitely benefit Usyk.

I agree, HW is basically HW and SHW in one you got HW's like Usyk's size but then you giants like Wilder,Josuha,Fury, Ortiz etc....

He's an adjustment guy. If you come with a good early game plan or the other guy just starts well it'll take a couple rounds to come up with the proper adjustment to get dialed in. Loma is like that who's dad obviously works with Usyk too. Floyd was like that. Even a guy like Bhop was like that. They feel out the situation & come up with their blueprint to win right there in the ring. Fluid fighters so to speak.

He is a careful boxer who studies his opponents for a few rounds and then goes to work and so far he always wins with room to spare.

Wilder is very tall but not very heavy. Usyk probably weighed 210 to 215 in the ring tonight. Wilder doesn't weigh much more than that in the ring. Joshua and Fury are very large heavyweights. Ortiz is big but not huge. A lot of his weight is excess blubber unlike AJ and Wilder who are lean.

Mchunu is a difficult style as he is very defensive.

Breidis beat Usyk to the punch with a very quick lance like jab which disrupted Usyk and made him constantly reset, not getting into his rhythm until later. Usyk likes to prod and probe like a cat with its paw, figuring his opponent out. Also why I knew Bellew would present problems with his counterpunching.

Bellew and especially Hunter had great success early - but if you throw the kitchen sink early and then gas while your opponent is INCREASING their output the later the fight goes - then are you really worthy of much praise?

It seems like a last-ditch effort approach to fighting - throw everything early so you either get a lucky stoppage or at least look impressive before you inevitably gas and lose,
As opposed to pacing yourself for a 12 round fight you know you can't win.

Someone suggested Miller as a warm up fight before Joshua, he could end up an even tougher fight than AJ. Absorbs punishment, can walk you down and has a big punch.

If he can outbox AJ then he can outbox the Windmill of Doom. Wilder is a dangerous puncher but a mediocre boxer who has been behind on points several times when he ended a fight by KO.
