If Tony Bellew Beats Oleksandr Usyk........

Where does it rank in terms of the best wins in British history? How about in recent times, say last 15-20 years? Usyk to some is the P4P #1 fighter in the world, or at least to the majority top 5. I mean if Usyk is already considered the best CW since Holyfield.

    What do you guys think?

It would be up there on the list of best British wins in the last 15-20 years, I'm not knowledgeable enough to give you a number but it would be impressive. As for the p4p list IMO he still wouldn't break the top 10 and Usyk would fall from somewhere in the top 5 down to somewhere in the bottom 5, but still top 10. That would also depend on how Usyk lost, though. If he absolutely dominated for 11 rounds and got KO'd in the last :30 of the last round in my book he wouldn't drop down nearly as far as if Bellew scored an early KO or a couple of knockdowns. It's all hypothetical, though.

I think there have certainly been better wins, Usyk is obviously top notch but his career and level to this point is hard to assess currently, and thus that win would be too. Longevity just isnt there and not enough reference points against established champions.

Having said all that I think by the eyeball test everyone can see Usyk's talent and he cleaned out what appears to be a good division so he has accomplished a lot in a short time.

What I'll say about Bellew is that if he was to pull this off, it would be one of the stronger late career surges we've seen in the last decade, considering he was nowhere 4-5 years ago, you would start putting his accomplishments against some recent British greats.

I personally feel Bellew's mentality and belief make a win possible here, he'll take some convincing to lose, but ultimately there is a significant talent difference to overcome

        It would be gigantic.

Up there with the best wins from a British fighter on home soil.

Which would you consider better wins of recent times?

Definitely a mega win for Bellew if that were to happen.

Recent times? Nothing obvious, I would personally put Fury's win over Wlad ahead, and maybe Hatton against Tszyu, both arguable though. They were more proven and experienced, but a little over the hill.

Historically there are a few that stand out...

If Bellew KOes him inside 5 uncompetitive rounds (highly impossible) he’s out of the top 10. He is a huge favorite coming into this fight, and it’s happening on his weight class as well.
That won’t be a GGG close fight loss where you can still put him nelo close in the rankings.
Or a climbing of weight excuse.
That’d be an embarassment and he’d probably be accused of being “exposed”.

                Idk, I just dig underdogs.
No big dog in the fight, but i hope bellew will somehow be competitive.
