Comments Thread For: Froch: If Bellew Lands That Left Hook, Usyk Will Be Out Cold

Carl Froch figures Tony Bellew's power will make him dangerous against Oleksandr Usyk right up until the final bell Saturday night. The unbeaten Usyk is heavily favored to beat Bellew in their cruiserweight title fight at Manchester Arena in Manchester, England (Sky Sports Box Office; DAZN). The retired Froch, now a Sky Sports boxing analyst, still gives Bellew a better chance than the lopsided odds indicate of upsetting Usyk.

Well Haye wasn't out cold.He stood up again. Btw Usyk was dropped only by body punches in his entire amateur & WSB career. Usyk fought 5 big Heavyweights at WSB which couldn't drop him.

Briedis, Huck & Gassiev all hit as hard as Bellew, if not harder.

Haye took flush shots off klitschko and wasnt hurt yet bellew knocked him bandy with one left hook. Im pretty sure klitschko hits about 5x harder than guck brodis and gassilev

I aint saying it gon happen but bellew hits hard enough that he has some small chance of a ko. He also aint a total stiff robot like those guys hes a bit messier and more awkward.

LOL Sorry bruv, but things just don't work that way....so Bellew punches harder than Wlad because Bellew KOd Haye and Wlad didn't?

Wlad never landed a full potential right hand on Haye in that entire fight. Most of hte time Haye was moving with the punches taking the sting off them.

Any time someone makes these triangle theories they never make any sense. There are millions of cases where a lesser puncher KOd someone that a massive puncher couldn't.

Man I remember when Postol won against Lucas and all these morons started making him out to be some puncher where the man is damn near feather fisted.

I think He’s been watching too much Chisora and Dave Allen.

I’d quite like Tony to win with a Hail Mary punch but I think Usyk’s gameplan will revolve around not letting that happen

Not to mention Lucas was already beaten and had a damn eye inury at that point. Postol made him exhausted but never KO him cold if my memory serves

You can have all the power in the world, but it's worth nothing if you can't land flush.
If Bellew wins this it won't be through being the bully, as Usyk is used to that. It's all about shot-timing, and Bellew needs to use his experience to realize when (if) he catches Usyk hard enough to stun then overwhelm him before he recovers.
There's a chance it happens and I'll never completely rule out Bellew before the final bell, but odds are vastly in favour of a wide unanimous decision for Usyk.
