I agree it isn’t really for beating Bellew. My point was more so as long as he wins, as he obviously won’t win it if he loses.

That's cool but bear in mind Bellew was actually the #5 rated CW (per TBRB) and the WBC champ - and remains WBC champ in recess. Not only has Usyk already beat almost everyone who matters in the Cruiser rankings (or beat the guy who beat the guy) Tony is the only remaining sorta piece of the title puzzle. Furthermore anyone else half decent is already booked up with the WBSS season 2 cruiser tourney.

Honestly folk talk like Bellew is just trash but he's a good fighter - no-one's idea of elite sure, but he'd give anyone else at Cruiser a hell of a fight.

Spose he could have gone up to Heavy but I think that's the plan for next year - no real benefit in fighting some fringe guy anyway.

And Fury has done what precisely ? Fists of Fluff Fury is worse than a typical GGG opponent, then again I’m told he’s the greatest their ever was so I guess I know what I’m dealing with here. NSB#

I think he might be without Bellew. Let's be honest, Tony is garbage and beating a crippled Haye doesn't really change that. I won't give Usyk any credit for that fight but winning the CW tourney might on it's own be enough.

Yeah Haye was passed it, but people feared for Bellew's health before the fight. Hindsight is 20-20
