Nishioka was well past his best at the time.
    And somewhat overrated as well.

I do think Nonito is capable of doing something in this tourny though. That power will do in most bantamweights even at this stage in his career.

I mean fair play to Nonito cuz if a mfer hurts himself & can't continue you do win. Thats just how it works. But he got a miracle in that first fight that he was competitive in although was still clearly losing up til the point of the injury & more than likely woulda lost if Burnett hadn't been injured.
Finally some honesty. He wouldn’t have won that he’s extremely lucky but he’s one of the sports good guys so I don’t begrudge him a bit of luck

Gotta give props to Nonito for taking tough fights. I'm curious how much his skills have diminished, and if he still has great power for the division.

If Donaire gets to the finals whether he wins or not is absolutely great. Two awesome Asian fighters fights for history abd recognition.

The win with either is more bigger because they are the best of each generation.

I thought Donaire was doing well in the Burnett fight. I had it 2-2 before the stoppage so, with the knockdown Donaire was up on my card. It seems like most had it 2-2.
I don't think it was a miracle. He was in the fight. Even before the freak injury Donaire was winning the fourth round. Nonito was landing especially to the body and when he had Burnett in the corner.
That's why it would have been interesting to see how the fight would have unfolded.
I wouldn't be shocked if he can pull it off against Tete. Inoue is a different story though.

An old Nonito Donaire moves down in weight to beat the #1 seed of the Bantamweight tournament and people were saying Bantamweight was such a great division. Anything to keep hyping up Inoue.

Only idiots had it 3-0 burnett. It was a close fight. Rd 1 was a toss up. Rd 2 was burnett and Rd 3 was donaire. Donaire was winning rd 4 with his jabs. If he beats tete then he's still better than people expected if he stops him i think he would have a legit chance against inoue. Inoue's win vs payano was amazing but also expected i would like to see someone who has a high chance to beat him.

If nontito somehow beats tete lol. Than it proves it was just a hype division for Inoue fanboys to justify them ranking him p4p#1.

The comments under the youtube video of Inoue's latest fight are hilarious.

Inoue would beat up Loma, better than Pac was in the lighter weights. And Crawford and Spence haven't fought anybody are some im reading.
