Has the Heavyweight Championship lost its prestige?

Ever worry that the Heavyweight Championship of the World has lost some of its prestige? It used to be THE most prized title in all of sports, but now it's an afterthought.

Remember when everyone knew who the heavyweight champion was? Now you'd be lucky if a random person on the street knew who it was.

Is this because of boxing's decline in popularity, or are there other factors?

No one knows who the UFC hw or any other boxing divison champ is anymore anyway.

Boxing is just not that popular anymore .

No idea what you talking about. Heavyweight champion of the world is still the biggest name in boxing as it always has been.

less prestige right now because the baddest man on the planet label is just an opinion. Wilder/Joshua needs to happen and soon.

There’s four belts and there hasn’t been a true champ since Lennox. It was easier in the 70’s when there was one belt, three channels, and Ali was such a polarizing figure.

It's still important but I think it's a weak weight class. Some lower weight classes have much better fighters. AJ vs Wilder would be a huge fight and not an afterthought.

We have two champs who would have been punching bags for Lewis, Tyson, Holyfield, Bowe, prime Wlad amd Vitali, Holmes, amd beyond.

You walk round England asking who the heavyweight champ is and 9 out of 10 will say AJ.
