  • Comments Thread For: Haye: Fury Will Have To Fully Reinvent Himself To Beat Wilder

Former two division world champion David Haye is very familiar with the punching power of Deontay Wilder (40-0, 39 KOs), who knocked out every opponent that he ever faced in the ring. On two occasions, Haye employed Wilder as a sparring partner to prepare for scheduled fights.

I’d be amazed if this version of Fury pulls it off, stranger things have happened.

Alot of the difficulties Haye describes people having with Wilder is because of hes height and reach advantage. Take them away, even against low level guys like Washington and the game changes. Wilders stamina gets a mention, but he has a very low output. How will he do getting hit consistently by a guy who can reach him. No sitting outside in the comfort zone this time. Thats why Wlad found it so hard against Fury, no control of long range for a change.

Let's hope fury takes this advice. I don't think fury wants to be doing ali rope a dope.
Best to keep him at bay with reach advantage.

Fury will embarrass Wilder until he gets caught and goes out somewhere mid to late rounds. Wilder stinks but his power is ridiculously good. Fury is a great boxer but I've seen the dude get dropped by Steve Cunningham for christ sake....

I don't think a rope a dope would work against Wilder. Way better stamina. Wouldn't be worth the risk IMO. George showed his entire (first) career that he would gas in the later rounds. Say what you will about Wilder vs Ortiz, but Wilder has shown he can carry his freak power into the championship rounds.

And I still think people are underestimating Wilder's jab. he didn't use it against Ortiz because of the dangerous southpaw counterpunch style. But he does have a great jab which he dominated Stiverne with for 12 rounds.

These are my concerns for Wilder too. Wlad had a hard time landing clean, Fury fights tall with his head out of range most of the time, when he throws, he throws arm punches to score points and isnt looking to fully extend himself out there.

Wilder is a head hunter, which makes some sense when he normally is much taller than his opponents. Now that Fury is taller, Wilder really needs to go to the body and break him down, there is no way that Fury can take a body attack the way he has abused it. His body is a much bigger target than that little goomba head he has. If Wilder is looking for a one punch KO, he could lose this fight on points.

Wilder will be dominated by Fury and look sloppy.......

until Fury gets caught by ONE power punch on the chin, it will be a brutal KO win by Wilder.

Fury remains unpredictable. No one can really tell the outcome of this fight
