I don't think they let Mikey their little brother/son take a beating here. It is different letting Margarito take one vs Pacquaio.

Again, this is a very very tough task, but I just don't see why he is getting killed for it. To him the risk is worth the reward. This guy is fundamental as it gets and his IQ is top notch, he's not no fool. He sees something in Spence he thinks he can exploit and I'm excited to see what it is that he sees.

And the matchup being for Undisputed is a big thing. If Spence batters Mikey, and there's a big chance of that happening, it will ruin the Loma-Mikey matchup and his own career. He won't be the same fighter after if he can even make lightweight anymore. The people will just make excuses and I doubt Mikey would be on the p4p lists anymore after a beat down. The fight goes down the drain because of this mismatch. How can you support that ? Why won't he fight Loma first before doing some ****** **** like that ? Probably because there is no shame in losing to Spence..it's win win for him.
When did I say it wouldn't happen in 2019? Can you not read? I said it wasn't happening this year (2018) which is true, and I said it wouldn't happen early 2019, which is also true. How the hell is Lomachenko going to fight Pedraza and turn around and fight Garcia a few months later? That fight wasn't happening until April at the earliest. Now, he could fight Spence and depending on how the fight goes, can turn around and fight Lomachenko around the Spring time if he wants.

You said there is no shame in losing to Spence and others have said there is nothing for him to lose in this match up...Yet at the same time say he could be ruined for the rest of his career. So how exactly does he have nothing to lose then?

I'd still rather him have fight Commey and then Loma.
i think he has no shot at all...mayweather knew he was a star and used the persona to make money.... mikey is to bland and doesnt have the charisma to make the casual fan wanna buy his fights.

The general opinion is that there is no shame in losing to Spence...but this **** can have an impact on his health and career.

Okay, if it can have an impact on his health and career, then he is taking a big risk here and it can't be perceived as a win-win. Canelo fighting Floyd who is smaller and a light puncher at 154 was a win-win for him as even if he lost it wasn't going to hurt his stock all that much...Which proved to be true. But when you say a mans health is at risk, then it no longer becomes a win-win for that particular fighter.

I cant go to a damn gym in Southern Ca without hearing Mikey Garcia and RGBA. He even has a billboard by my house. But I will agree he isn't a household name or ppv star BUT why do you think he is taking a risk against Errol Spence? Like you said, Mayweather had the persona that Mikey does not have so Mikey is going about it the hard way. Why is that hard for people to understand or respect?

He's limited on options. He's not fought an elite opponent yet and wants to make big bucks. He's obviously not going to fight a Top Rank fighter so his options are at 147 in the PBC stable. I have my doubts he'll fight Spence. I think he'll wait to see if Pacquaio-Mayweather II falls through and see if he can get Pacquaio.

If he is serious about Spence my gut feeling is that Mikey is close to retiring and is looking for a cashout so why not do it against a guy who's supposed to wreck you? Win and you've done something great and can milk an extra big payday or two or lose and you have a (legit) excuse. His insistence on cherry picking titles in divisions but not defending them or trying to prove to be #1 in the divisions kind of show this so he can fall on "I'm a four weight world champion". Hey, Broner is also a 4 weight "champion" too.

It's textbook and it's hard to really plan against it unless you're very slick and have a good chin to boot. Which are all untested at WW with Mikey.
I honestly do not see Mikey winning, unless he can box Spence ears off somehow and keep a stiff jab in his face all night. Time him when he gets in. Maybe he sees a habit of Spence that he can time with a specific punch, but size difference has to play a factor.
