The honest truth is, if he can't beat Washington he may as well give up now, because Washington is levels below even someone like Whyte, who is levels below Ortiz, wilder and Joshua.

I thought Washington had already been written off and he was fighting some no-hoper instead. I hope the Washington fight does get made, I think Joyce has the beating of him already - the main question is can he do it more impressively than Wilder or Miller did?

All good man, I think a lot of people confuse him with Daniel Dubois who is young and can take his time to build up.

Joyce needs to be challenging for a belt in his next few fights so he has to target high ranking opponents to try to force a mandatory bout. He's got enough power to scare away the big guys from a voluntary defense, so it's his only option.

Quick question for the UK folks: any particular reason why Joyce turned pro so late at the age of 32? It seems like he picked up boxing late, did he?

Unlike Deontay Wilder, Gerald Washington is the more fundamentally sound and the more complete fighter of the two. All Wilder has is that equalizer. On the other hand, Gerald have some actual boxing skills. He was outclassing Wilder for the first four rounds of their bout before eventually getting caught with the Bronze Bomber's equalizer.

Don't be silly, Washington is raw and came from a football background and is late 30's. Joyce should have won gold medal and has been boxing since his early 20's.
