I don't think Washington is anything special. Good bout for Joyce and a good addition to the card. Lord knows it needs the help.Comment

I think AJ got the nod for the 2012 Olympics so JJ had to wait an extra 4 years for his shot. He also did some other random stuff in the years he could have turned proComment

Unlike Deontay Wilder, Gerald Washington is the more fundamentally sound and the more complete fighter of the two. All Wilder has is that equalizer. On the other hand, Gerald have some actual boxing skills. He was outclassing Wilder for the first four rounds of their bout before eventually getting caught with the Bronze Bomber's equalizer.Comment

Perhaps, you are right. He's got to get the experience somewhere. So what better place for him to get that experience other than fighting on Deontay Wilder's first pay per view under card? I spoke too soon. I forgot that he was a 33 years old and time is running out on his career. So yes, Washington would be a good style match up for him.Comment

wilder sucks at boxing though. washington lost to miller and mansour so its not like he's some great boxer. fighters have to take risks at some point in their careers especially when there is so much money out there in the heavyweight division right now(especially the uk scene) a win over washington will put him in the conversation for fights against guys like whyte and chisora. then a fight with joshua, fury, wilder after that. yes he could fight bums nonstop but then he would be treading water. if he can't beat washington then hes probably not very good and never will be.Comment
