Great interview by Sugar! Another thing Sugar brought up, when Brook was fighting GGG, was that he didn't go the full 160 for Hagler because he didn't want to lose his speed! You don't have be 147 to beat a 147lb. fighter, and you don't want to lose your speed and timing for the sake of gaining muscle mass!

If Spence forces a firefight, that's bad news for Mikey. Spence will have to do that tho...which he can do. Spence will grind him down and stop him with a body shot late in a super fight.

The thing is the BIG difference is Mikey Garcia is a much smaller man and the older man here.

for 1 SRL really wasn't a small guy he was 5'10 and Hagler was also 5'10 and also SRL was 2 years younger than Hagler who was 32 years old while SRL was 30.

and from what I've read back then the consensus was that the fight between the 2 was 5 years too late much like Mayweather vs Pacquiao, as both were just about out of their respective prime years back then but Ray was closer to prime years than Hagler was.

There have been too many people who've been in the ring with Spence and said he hits almost like a HW for Mikey to have a real chance when he was clearly hurt by Broner to the body. Something Spence specializes in..

Mikey is daring to be great, and kudos to him, unlike so many fighters ducking others all the time. If I may reminisce and compare, 'Sugar' Ray would comfortably have beaten today's best welterweights and middleweights, be it Spence, Crawford, Canelo, Charlos or Golovkin.

the crazy thing about Whitaker though is that he was passed his prime for most of his welterweight career.
