It looks like neither guy was a draw in this fight.

If that isn't evidence that HBO's boxings bad numbers have been in large part a result of boxing fans unsubscribing due to ****ty content the past number of years, I dont know what is.

Jacob's fight with the equally unknown Sulecki peaked at 870k back in April of this year. Where did those three hundred thousand eyeballs go between then and now? I thought boxing wasn't an important part of HBO's programming to their subscribers?

Bad timing to put that fight on it was so much other sports events going on as posted in another thread about these ratings. You CANNOT depend on boxing Alone to bring in subs and views that is the truth of the matter. DAZN US will have to get the rights to show other more popular sports if possible to work. For boxing, fans will do like they do with HBO and Showtime, Tune In or in this case subscribe to the app when a big fight is coming and unsubscribe after it but if DAZN Lucky maybe people will just forget to unsubscribe which does happen

HBO does have some petty good shows. I'll give them that

I don't understand the hate DAZN is getting, it's so cheap you'd be dumb not to have it if you're a boxing fan. At the moment I'd say it's a good service with the potential to get great - signing Canelo shows they ain't playing. Streaming is the future, for real.
Cos of Eddie Hearn, at this point I’m not even sure people know why they dislike him. He’s no worse than other promoters, and he treats his fighters reasonably well.

Jacobs doesn't sell! Hearn hasn't made a difference! I think it might be less people coming to see Jacobs than when he fought Quillen!

Wait until the existing deals are up & DAZN will have NFL, MLB, NHL, NBA, NASCAR etc. The fact they've chosen to start with boxing is great for our sport.
I’m old and technology ******ed and would rather watch fights on TV and while
Your probably right streaming is going to be the way of the future

I think the big thing your missing is Right now streaming hasn’t replaced TV for fans who want to watch sports but when it does become the main way that people view sports , I tend to agree with a statement Lou DiBella made a couple weeks ago on a podcast where he says when streaming becomes the dominant platform the major sport wont sell of their rights to the streaming platforms they will create their own streaming platforms for customers to purchase and control all the revenue.

DAZN probably doesn’t land the big US sport rights when they become available in the future especially in the long term , They will probably be relegated to having 2nd tier sports or international sports rights like certain European soccer leagues and such. And who knows if that will be enough to ensure success in the US.

                    I could be wrong

Boxing fans unsubscribed after confirmation HBO is no longer committed to the sport.. I’m just happy to know I won’t have to hear Peter Nelson jibber jabber any longer, screw HBO.
