Did you see Vargas vs Berchelt? He was durable but was not giving as good as he got and took a beating the whole fight. He wasn't the same Vargas that fought Miura or Salido. And his last fight confirms this, a good Vargas would of taken that guy out in maybe 3 rds instead of 7. Roach sees this like Berchelt's people did and want that name on their resume.Comment

True. Since Bivol and Pascal is presumed to be HBO's last televised fight unless Munguia gets added for December, should their schedules allow, Machado vs Vargas could be HBO's Christmas gift to boxing fans.Comment

Yes but Berchelt being with Top Rank see it being a few fights before it gets done. Davis has not fought in forever, is overweight and only fights PBC Bums. That's what I was thinking! I was sure he was going to call out Tank Davis in the ring, at the post fight interview, then when he said he wanted Mexico vs. Puerto Rico, I thought he was going to say Berchelt, but he said Vargas! Maybe that was what he was instructed to say? Berchelt in a unification would be much better!Comment

not bad I guess,,vargas is easy to hit,but hard to discourage,he just keeps coming at you,and that will be a good test for a young guy like machado, although vargas is kind of on the down side,he's still a good test for machado in terms of making machado work hard for the victory, maybe taking him the twelve rounds and making it a hard fight, obviously not skillwise he's going to test machado, but not a bad fight,it's good for a young guy to face guys with different stylesComment
