Alberto "El Explosivo" Machado (21-0, 17 KOs) returned back home to Puerto Rico, after picking up a sensational win on Saturday night in New York City. What a war this fight would be. GBP never took care of Vargas after throwing him in tough fights after tough fights. Who knows how much he has left but maybe he is rejuvenated..

Vargas still fights...??? Dudes face explodes after one punch nowadays.
It would be a 100% FEEDING on paper for Machado.

He is prone to cuts but his durablity cant be underestimated. He can dish out as much as he can take and if Machado cant do the same, he is going down.

Incredible performance from Machado. Definitely one of the top in his division. Vargas hasn't fought since April and Machado took zero damage from Evans. Is it too early for Machado to have this fight with Vargas made in December?

I dont see why not as long as there is a date open for them. December is usually a slow month for Boxing.

This is a war Machado is huge but chinny. He was crawling on the canvas and holding for dear life against Carlos Morales last year then got dropped and was losing being out boxed by Corrales before landing that huge knockout. He beat 2 low level opponents after that. Vargas is more skilled, more experience, better chin...but his problem is his face falls apart. He took a long layoff had scar tissue removed no bad cuts since but only been in 2 soft touches since surgery. I will go with Machado younger stronger fighter but this will be a war.

That's what I was thinking! I was sure he was going to call out Tank Davis in the ring, at the post fight interview, then when he said he wanted Mexico vs. Puerto Rico, I thought he was going to say Berchelt, but he said Vargas! Maybe that was what he was instructed to say? Berchelt in a unification would be much better!
