The question is whether or not the chasing pack who are not on DAZN/Sky can get their promoters to work out a deal with whichever network they are currently contracted to; whether it's Showtime or ESPN in the US, or BT Sport here in the UK.
It'll be a shame if they can't; the likes of Charlo, GGG (if he continues), BJS (if clean), and Brant are all too good to be wasting effort on nothing fights. Derev' showed why GGG wanted no part of him as a short notice replacement, I can see him getting another title shot within 12-18 months.
They didn't really pull a blinder. They took the spot of hbo. Jacobs is a Haymon fighter; Haymon advised Danny to sign with Hearn and hbo to help get fights against Canelo and/or g, since they were both strictly hbo fighters. Hearn and Haymon have a pretty good history of working together, and obviously if Charlo can get a fight against Canelo (Charlo is Canelo's mandatory after all) Jermall will fight on DAZN. Also, Derev is with Haymon. Haymon coulda been an ass and made it go to purse bid and had showtime outbid hbo for the Derev-Jacobs fight, but he didn't. Haymon allows his fighters to fight on any network... when it makes sense.

As for Derev, he is a not an elite fighter. He simply isn't. That fight showed Danny is not elite either. There is a reason Derev has been a sparring partner forever, instead of a pro fighter on his own. That he nearly beat Danny, really hurts Jacob's stock. You are right that he might get another title shot, simply because other champs will realize that is an easy victory that they can sell as an acceptable opponent.

I want to see him against Charlo as well BUT forget "personal" and go for which ever fight brings in the most $$$$.

A fighters shelf life at the top is SHORT.

Get the $$$ while the getting is good and now is as good a time as ever to put the most $$$$ into that retirement plan for life after boxing.

I can't see Jacobs beating Charlo. Or Canelo. I really can't. He struggled against a sparring partner. Derev had never fought anyone in the top 25 and clearly isn't an elite fighter.

Charlo and Canelo are the two top dogs at middleweight and that is the fight that needs to be made. But Canelo will vacate before fighting Jermall. Which is why Charlo needs to fight Danny. Take Jacobs out of the picture. That leaves Andrade as the only other legit serious opponent for Canelo at 160. Lemiuex is there, but he is more of a tune-up, stay-busy type of opponent. If Charlo fights and beats Danny, that will start to create a real demand for Canelo to fight him. And if the fans demand Canelo fight someone, Canelo will fight that someone. Trout, Lara, and g are proof of that. Until there is a real demand from fans, Canelo can fight at 168 where there are no truly elite fighters (maybe Callum is, I don't know, I've never watched him.)
Stop w/t the BS already... Canelo won’t vacate the belt to avoid Charlo. What the foook has Charlo proved to show anyone that he’s this big threat to Canelo’s reign? Nothing his best win is an over the hill Trout. The WBC has yet to mandate a purse bid for the fight to happen and most likely than not won’t mandated for at least another yr as long as Canelo keep bringing in the dough.

Charlo has been quiet. Jacobs turned this lion into a kitten. Now that Jacobs has the belt, Charlo has no reason not to fight him . Let's see if he's gonna call Jacob after his fight (if he win)

A Charlo is not a world champion. He's just interim belt holder.

So that's why Wilder is kinda calling Joshua out yet doing everything not to get the deal done.
You think Jacobs would also lose a pen or price himself out when having a contract to fight Charl on his table?

Exactly! A Charlo and majority of other PBC "fighters" are just puppies who are constantly barking top names yet have no balls to really fight them. Al "the cancer" Haymon taught them well.

I think this fight has a real chance of happening now. GGG already told the world GGG will duck Charlo so he's available after he beats bum Monroe. I think Jacobs number 1 priority should be Canelo in May but with manager sounding like Jacobs might price himself out that fight next best fight is Charlo. GGG is never going to fight Jacobs again. If Jacobs foolishly demands too much money for Canelo then I can see Canelo telling him to kick rocks.

I wanted to see Canelo vs Jacobs and GGG vs Charlo next.

But we might end up with Canelo vs GGG (he gets beat up worse and likely knocked out) and that leaves Charlo vs Jacobs (which is a great fight).

The term elite is relative to the depth in the division; outside of the champs there's Charlo, GGG, and BJS.
Derev is prob just below them but level with Brant and above the likes of Murata, Lemieux, Murray, etc. MW is a division with a lot of very good fighters, but probably less than a half-dozen truly elite ones which is a pretty good mix. A couple of decent looking prospect coming through - Culcay looks like he could end up as an elite fighter, and Quigley has ability but needs a better coaching fit.
