I had it 6-6 with Jacobs winning for the knock down. I thought Jacobs lost the last 3 rounds in a row.

The question isn't, was it close? The question is, how a 37 fight, A class fighter go nip and tuck with a 12 fight, no left hook, plodder? It was close and it should bother him.

It was a close fight imo but I thought Danny won. 8-4 would be pretty silly in this fight imo.

                Pretty close and entertaining fight!

I felt the KD won Jacobs the fight otherwise it would’ve been a draw for me!

Lots of times Jacobs was missing shots and landing punches them arm punches that had no zip on them!

I do credit Danny for having the better defense and harder shots landed as well better overall bodywork!

But I felt Derevyanchenko made it closer due to his aggression, Cutting off the ring, body work of his own and making the fight more of his type of fight
                Later!

Also felt the inexperience of Derevyanchenko showed up, he should’ve fought the first half how he fought the 12th round, Danny barely had any answers when Derevyanchenko decided to up the tempo a bit!

Would love to see Derevyanchenko vs Lemule

Canelo vs Jacobs? I think Danny needs to fight like he did Ggg if he wants to win!

The fight I saw in terms of how judges are required to score rounds went as such:

                  - Effective aggression: Derevyanchenko backed up Jacobs the entire fight save for a small period in the later rounds.

                  - Clean punching/scoring shots: without question Jacobs. It seemed his output was lower than expected, but he certainly delivered the more eye-catching punches.

                  - Ring Generalship: Difficult to score as Derevyanchenko pressed the attack, whilst Jacobs seemed comfortable to fight off the back foot, and go into a Philly shell, bending at the waist to make it awkward for his opponent to land punches, much like Mayweather style of defence when pressed. Only accurate sharpshooting fighters seem to be able to break down this style and usually it is a patient fighter who can use his feet and range. It appeared Sergiy was smothering his own work, not being patient in stepping back to deliver more effective punches, such as the completely gone amiss left hook.

                  - Defence- The edge goes to Jacobs as he was rarely hit cleanly, in comparison the Sergiy who was catching shots both to the body and the head, albeit not in impressive volume. Sergiy's defence was mostly a high guard with some upper body and head movement, but not enough to unsettle Jacobs.

If it weren't for the knockdown, and if Sergiy had used the left hook more as well as be more relaxed with his control of distance rather than charging in and thereby smothering his own punches, which gave the perfectly positioned Jacobs to counter with uppercuts, body shots and hooks.

Overall I wouldn't have been surprised with a draw, but no robbery here.

The big question now is are Andrade and Jacobs willing to put their titles on the line to become unified WBO/IBF champ which would set up a fantastic fight against Canelo for all the marbles.
But of course, that won't happen.
Canelo will continue to campaign at 168 for **** only knows why throwing confusion into the MW division as to when he intends to challenge someone other than just GGG.
After all, he is the WBC/WBA/IBO/Ring MW champ so talk of a fight beyond Rocky Fielding is rubbish.

I assume he either wants to see how his body adapts at 168, whether the big paydays are there, **** only knows what this idiot is doing. what he wants contrary to his obligations and responsibilities as usual.

Sympathy rounds. When a fighter is dominating early people give the fighter losing rounds just for being competitive.
