The WBC saw $ signs and tried to force a GGg/Canelo fight. Was it political yeah was it as f.ucked up as the IBF stripping Golovkin , f.uck no

Gennady got handed the WBC because Canelos team didn’t want the fight when it was mandated they preferred to age Gennady a couple years and it worked.

I’m also aware Canelo got one of his signature favourable scorecards in the rematch and that Gennady wouldnt have the IBF strap now

But the fact is Jacobs ( who I’m a fan of ) got the strap in a cheap way he didn’t beat a champ for it. It’s like the Charles Martin situation. Did Gennady getbthe WBC in a cheap way , yeah to a lesser extent because Canelo was given a opportunity to make the fight and he chose to invent a new weight class , Golovkin got stripped because he was waiting for a huge $ fight against Canelo who popped dirty and delayed the fight 5-6 months, Gennadys team decided it was better to have a stay busy fight against Vanes instead of facing a threat in Devrechenko for no $ with a chance of derailing the rematch , which anyone in that position would have done the same thing

I can never understand why people give any value to those abc titles. I don't pay them any attention. Tell you what, why don't you and the guy you quoted start our own boxing sanctioning body.

And yeah I somewhat agree all the organizations are flawed in one way or another , For fighters on the top tier belts don’t matter ( Mayweather , Canelo ) they can ditch a strap or be strapless and it won’t hurt their revenue

Fighters below that and guys on the way up need the straps l. It gives them bigger paydays / TV time / gives them legitimacy and can attract the bigger names who want to take it off their hands

Even if the 3 of us made a new organization it’d be more of the same. You either follow your rules
To the T (like the IBF ) even when it’s not in the best interest of your sanctioning body or the sport to try and show legitimacy or you cater to the top earners and promoters and let them influence your decisions because it keeps the top names fighting for your strap and it keeps $ coming in and gives your belt prestige having the best having your strap around their waist. If you don’t the guys with power will just go to another sanctioning organization will who’ll do it and freeze you out leaving your strap with a bunch of C class title holder that no one gives a f.uck about

Boxing is a carnival that’s been set up so You can’t win , Just a bunch of non stop f.uckery

The only way would be to have 1 league, with 1 strap but the sports so fragmented and spread throughout the world it’d be almost impossible to implement ,

close fight some of the rounds SD backed him up but wasnt landing a lot clean but was still working, then jacobs opened up, and the clean punches landed were about even. I felt it was 114-113 either way no issues with how the judges scored it.

GGG then refused fighting charlo for the number 1 spot to get his belt back. He is electing to fight a nobody tomato can. GGG doesnt want his belts back, he doesnt have the heart of a champion, which is why he ran all night from a super welterweight. He wants easy fights, plain and simple.

Jacobs is a very good fighter, but saying you only want to fight title holders means you're just fighting unification bouts, which are rare. Also, Golovkin never lost the IBF title in the ring, so is Jacobs the real champ? And if you're a true champion, you will fight the likes of Charlo and Saunders.
