ward is a pretty good example, though, of someone who did both pretty well

the super 6 was a tough tourney in which he wasnt one of the biggest underdogs in it....from a betting perspective at least.......

ward wasnt making great money then...but doing ok....he really did well the last 2 years of his career though making around 20 mil and taking on his toughest challenge....

it does stink he had that time off...because he could have maybe added another very good scalp to his resume during that period....but it is what it is

I honestly don’t give him all that much credit for winning the super 6 tbh. Ward was certainly an elite fighter but the rest of the tournament was filled with very basic fighters IMO, I think Froch and Kessler are wildly overrated.(Admittedly by Brits)
The way he won it easily was certainly impressive and he gets credit for that but Wards only elite level win is Kovalev IMO. Chad Dawson was another very good win but he was definitely weight drained.
