  • Comments Thread For: Derevyanchenko Warns Jacobs: I'm A lot Smarter Than Golovkin

Highly respected amateur and former Ukrainian Olympian, Sergiy Derevyanchenko (12-0, 10 KOs), feels strongly that he's a smarter boxer than former unified middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin - who won a close twelve round decision over Daniel Jacobs in March 2017. On Saturday night at Madison Square Garden in New York, Derevyanchenko will collide with Jacobs for the vacant IBF middleweight crown.

Yes you are but you need a stoppage to win in NYC. Judges won't give you the decision if it gets close.

With Derevychenko rich amateur background & his familiarity with Jacobs, I expect a close tough fight that is likely to be decided by the judges.

Devevy can apply a lot of pressure on Jacobs for a knockout.

Well, Golovkin might be a great fighter but he desn't have a great ring IQ. No adjustments, no nothing. Jabs, jabs, jabs. Headhunting

Tough fight to call given the sparring. I see Jacobs jabbing and clinching, trying to catch Derevy coming in. I also see Derevy body hunting and trying to set up an overhand right that takes Jacobs out. Should be fun. Jacobs MD12.
