I don't know what they're making. I make $20 an hour. I just post in my spare time from my couch when I'd have nothing else going on anyway. It's an extra $500 a week I wouldn't have otherwise. No different than someone who drives uber when they have time to kill.

I know you have 'credentials' but I know a former athlete getting paid to post now on a sports site in regards to his sport. And even he's not getting paid that much. He's just doing it for fun.
Supply and demand. If they're paying him $10 or $12 an hour, it may be because there are far more former athletes than there are active promoters willing to do what I do.

Fortunately, it doesn't matter if it's believable. If I was worried about being believe, I would have never mentioned it. It only ever came up because somebody asked me once if I was being paid to post here, so I answered honestly, as I always do.

Regardless of why I'm here, either my points and arguments hold merit or they don't. Everyone is always attacking me personally because they can't counter my positions. My positions are all that should matter. Who I am or why I'm here shouldn't matter.

Blahblahblah if it was me I’d be like “not arsed if you believe me or not, can’t be bothered trying to prove it”. I’ve seen you mention it or defend it a fair few times on this forum.

Obviously trying to project a persona online.

I've worked for dozens and dozens of promoters over the years, worked for numerous publications, worked for a few networks, etc, and it would be hard to float around as much as I have and worked for as many warring factions as I have, if I didn't make sure to lay low and operate in the shadows.

When it comes to DAZN, my fights don't air on DAZN in the US or UK and BS is pretty much dominated by the US & UK. I really don't think it would be worth the time or effort to make a fake name, posing as a fan, or several fake names, posing as fans, to try to pimp my fights or fighters the way so many others do. BS is a major propaganda hub in the industry. A lot of the trolls I fight with on this site are certainly paid trolls.

I personally think it's largely a waste of time. But promoters are obsessed with this site and think this forum has way more influence than it really does. I tend to think there is merit to Haymon's approach of not wasting energy on it and just focusing on your business. So that's the approach I take for my own business. But if somebody wants to pay me to talk about how boxing works behind the scenes, I'm not opposed to it. It's a little annoying having to fight with the paid trolls, but the money isn't bad and I can set my own hours.
Is attracting attention to yourself just something high level promoters do? No offense meant it just seem counterintuitive to everything I see from a fan perspective. I'm happy to let go of that perspective because I realize I don't know **** about promoting a boxing match, but I don't understand, on the surface of things, why you wouldn't want attention.

What I'm getting from you is promotion in boxing works on a sort of outsource system where bigger, say global, promoters higher smaller, say national, promoters to handle certain bits who I'd assume higher even smaller and more localized regional promoters to handle a certain amount of their work as well and since boxing promotion works in this manner it behooves you to not allow big companies like TR and GB to know you've worked with both of them. Is that somewhere abouts what you mean to say?

I don't reckon promotion has to always be fake reviews and such nonsense, but I don't know my ass really so it's not hard for me to accept this is wrong to do, but, when fights are not airing in the US what is wrong with putting that fight on Youtube and letting us know about it? You'd certainly get more eyes on your fights. I don't even mean live, although that'd be nice, or good production quality, although that'd be nice. Just a ****ty cell phone video is better than nothing. Just, you know, basic high school kids' band level promotion stuff.

I too think forums are a waste of time. I literally come here to waste time and try to sneak in some history and/or kinesiology. That said, I have inspired books and historical revision from this and others forums just by pointing out most of what is claimed on Boxrec, CBZ, IBRO, IBHOF, and even prime history books like Boxiana, Pugilistica, Fistinia etc source information that isn't actually anything like the information found in the source material. To be fair to Boxrec and IBHOF neither of those orgs are focused on history, but quite alot of the history they do cover, which means quite a lot of history folks talk about, is wrong.

That said maybe we're wrong and forums matter a lot, but also seems like every joker on a forum is a published author so who knows. I of course love that my posts have inspired a book and a revisionist crew, but that could be ego more than anything and have nothing to do with the importance of forums.
