Charlo's trainer does know that unless Golovkin decides to adhere to the WBC's order to battle Charlo in a middleweight elimination match, Shields' fighter can't become consumed with a fight that might not happen. For every fighter who laces up the gloves money is the reason they do it, as a professional. Charlo would be a high risk fight for any fighter without making the kind of money that would be made fighting a Alvarez or Golovkin.

If that was the case then every other black fighter would be hated equally. AJ and Wilder pretty much split the popularity at HW unless you're eatern european or a gypsy. Crawford, Spence, and Thurman and Porter pretty much own WW. Hurd doesn't get much hate either.
Yes the Charlo's are lacking a bit of love but it's because they act like **** rather than racism, and hopefully they don't drag Spence down to their level. Most fighters get a bit af hate when they deserve it; be it for drugs offences, disrespect, or bringing the sport into disrepute in any other way.

Charlo is fighting Willie Monroe and maybe he gets a shot at Golovkin but to sit here and say racism is the reason why they're being avoided is nuts! At the end of the day their "promoters" have done a disservice to them by not keeping them active and building their brand name so they can force Canelo or Golovkin to fight them plain and simple
