Nice deflection on what he was saying by suddenly caring about competition. Let's keep it 100 in here. Suddenly everybody forgot that heiland was ranked #1 by the wbc and that fight was for the #1 spot. Suddenly everybody forgot that centeno was a mandated fight for the interim title. Now suddenly everybody seems to forget that monroe(who was a good opponent for ggg and bjs), is a stay busy fight while he waits for canelo. It seems it's also forgotten that he's been mandatory since ggg was the champion. But somehow ggg is given a pass to wait a whole year and fight vanes in the process to wait for canelo. Let's also note that canelo is being given a pass right now because charlo isn't a popular star. So let's not act like it isn't about race here. If it was about records....people would be up in arms about him being ducked from fights he's earned. Especially when the excuse is wanting to see him fight top opposition.

I'm really wondering who everybody wants them to fight. Since they all seem to excuse ggg and canelo, I'm just wondering who they should be fighting if it isn't about race. Lemeiux, the guy who got knocked out by Rubio, outboxed by alceime, pulverized by ggg, and completely outclassed by bjs. Or Martin Murray. Ndam..... these dudes are full of crap. You seem to forget that Heiland was waiting for a shot before Charlo. And on the cycle continues. Secondly, you don't duck someone and then fight better and more proven opposition for more money. Vanes was a stay busy fight made at the last minute when Canelo pissed hot. Lets not pretend he was someone picked out of the bottom of the barrel months in advance like Willie Monroe Jr. on the cycle continues.

I'm not giving Canelo a pass. I scream from the rooftops that Canelo doesn't want to fight Charlo. Many people aren't giving Canelo a pass including myself. If he was going to move up to 168 for a belt he should have fought someone like David Benevidez. I don't believe he has a fight scheduled. But no...he chooses to fight Britians 5th best super middleweight for a paper belt.

It is about records but the Centeno fight went all of two rounds back in April. Why does he wait until long after all the best available opposition has other fights to schedule his next bout.

Charlo is doing right things. He shouldn't sit and wait for GGG or Canelo. Monroe is a decent MW. It will be easy fight for Charlo but better than doing nothing.

Part of the problem is that Charlo preferred to sit on his a$$ after his 2 round sparring session with Centeno in April while every other notable middleweight was busy setting up big fights for the fall. And I don't want to hear ***** about him holding out for a fight with GGG. He knew that wasn't going to happen. GGG was going to fight Canelo or unify belts with Billy Joe Saunders. Two better and more meaningful fights for more money.

Even with Charlo wasting so much time Maciej Sulecki was available. He may have lost but was coming off of a hell of a fight with Danny Jacobs. He was the rumored opponent for this fight and I didn't have a problem with it. But then all of a sudden this turd of a fight falls from the sky and its a major disappointment.

Its simple. Monroe was relatively green when he fought GGG but that made him an unknown quantity. We knew he could box and we hadn't seen GGG against a skilled American style boxer yet so there was some unknowns on both sides at the time. Monroe is no longer an unknown quantity. We know all about him. He's a good boxer but he's not a championship level fighter. He's got good boxing skills but the Billy Joe Saunders fight showed he wasn't elite. Making matters worse was that Saunders had Monroe so befuddled he didn't even try to win which made for a horribly boring fight. While fast and athletic compared to GGG he's not faster or more athletic than Charlo at least not noticably so. And we all know he isn't going to be the puncher in pretty much every fight he's in let alone when he's matched up with Charlo.

So I don't see it being a remotely competitive fight that teaches us anything about where Charlo is as compared to the rest of the elites of the divison. Monroe is a gatekeeper. Someone like Charlo should dominate him. At least Maciej Sulecki would have made a fight out of it and we could have used that fight to gauge where Charlo is as compared to Danny Jacobs.
