Any Fighters Ever Complain About B.O.?

Of course it's a fight and not for the faint of heart or smell, but has any fighter complained about a odorous opponent?

Like, damn, the smell almost knocked me out?

I didn't run because I was scared. I had to get away from that stanky wright?

Matt Lindland in MMA was known as a real stinker (Far left)

and Shonie Carter said he used to wear trunks so he could rub his ball sweat in his opponents face while grappling them

        LOL.

Dude, this may be the funniest post I've ever read. Haha.

Makes sense though. If you can't crank 'em, stank 'em!

Povetkin's trainer blamed poor performance against Huck on ''very peculiar, strong odor coming from Marco Huck which made Sasha very dizzy and nauseous''.

I think the key is to sweat profusely yourself so that any impurities that get on you are washed away by your own sweat.

Heard it said several times Dan Severn purposely wouldn't shower leading up to fights. Would also wear old stinking gear. His style was to tie people up, basically hug them and roll around on top of them on the mat.

I don't think I've heard anyone complain, but when I was young schools still had boxing programs. They were going out but they were still around here and there. My school, Homestead Elementary in Cumberland County Tennessee, had a boxing program that allowed boys in the eighth grade, with a permission slip, to "settle their differences under queensberry rules". Coach used to tell us, even though he was the same coach for everybody so everyone got the same advice, not to shower a whole week prior to fighting that way when your opponent gets close they can't hardly breathe.

so we were always a pair of stinky, unshowered, pre-teens. It wasn't something you could complain about seriously so much as joke about.
