Really, really hope this comes off, the first fight was one of the most epic HW wars I've ever witnessed. Think Sizzora stuns Whyte and KO's him this time around

        Kingkong is too much.
Perhaps he's too much for him if at his best, but Ortiz has fought a couple of times for Matchroom before and he stunk out the place which is why no one in the UK wanted to see him face our better heavyweights. He blew the opportunity, went on to fail a drug test and ended up jumping ship for the Wilder title shot. *shrug*

But after all that Shyte still challenged Luis Ortiz to fight on December 22.

Ortiz accepted and even agreed to go over to the UK.

Shyte got real quiet after that. And much like Joshua probably wants us to forget that he ever opened his mouth only to get his bluff called.

I do agree that Whyte is picking the easier matchup, just don't expect the UK fans to get behind Ortiz again for awhile especially as his most high profile fight to date is a knockout loss to Wilder.

I'd rather see Whyte vs Ortiz too before his resurgence is properly derailed.

Eddie was just saying a few days back Del Boy wanted to much money now. Is Del Boy cool with less money then he was asking pre-last weekend?

It wont match the original for drama, rematches very rarely do.
I was hoping for Whyte vs Ortiz or even Breazeale, either could have been set up as a final eliminator for one of the titles but looks like their names were only mentioned in an effort to bring down Chisora's demands.

Ortiz has a global fan base, would of been a much bigger global fight.

But whyte chosen easier fight to milk the naive dumb UK fanboys.
So eddie can maintain the illusion he has some boxing talent.

Any sane boxing fan would love to see ortiz mix it up with the top uk heavies. There has even been recent online polls taken that prove this.

Stop trying to protect the UK heavy weights, it's pathetic and sad. And not good for the sport

Those polls are from AFTER the Wilder fight .. like I said, Ortiz fought twice on Matchroom Sports and neither fight convinced the UK fans that he was something special or likely to be avoided by the best HW's if and when he came calling. You're also conveniently overlooking that Wilder vs Ortiz was signed previously (2017) but Ortiz failed a drug test and the fight was scrapped in favour of Wilder vs Stiverne II.

He also failed a test in 2014

No one is obligated to fight known PED abusers, and the governing bodies reflected that with their decision to remove Ortiz from their rankings following those failed tests. He only has himself to blame for not being more well known AND popular.
