You're severely misrepresenting the facts. Because Finkel managed both Wilder and Klitschko, a showdown between the two would be a natural course, but Finkel started being asked about the fight the second Wilder won the WBC world title.

Klitschko already committed to fighting Jennings before Wilder won his title, so Finkel was honest that he was looking to quickly schedule a couple defenses for Wilder before turning his attention to Klitschko. Finkel kept his word and Wilder made his first two defenses in a very short span of time.

Klitschko had an overdue double mandatory against Fury as well as an overdue mandatory against Glazkov. While Finkel could have explored having a unification trump a mandatory, it would have been a poor decision because whoever won would be quickly stripped, not to mention the SHO/HBO conflict.

So Finkel's plan was for Klitschko and Wilder to fight in 2016 after all mandatories had been cleared, and, more importantly, Klitschko was clear of his HBO obligations. Unfortunately, Klitschko was upset by Fury, which ruined Finkel's plan.

this again ... Finkel literally used the term "baby" to describe Wilder when discussing the potential of a unification fight against Wladimir Klitschko. So what if the fight later turned out not to be viable, Finkel still protected Wilder from Klitschko and there is no dis*****g it, the quotes are easy to find.
