Charlo made a mistake going the WBC route. Actually mistake is maybe not the right word as he's been unlucky, not many expected the the first fight to be a draw, the second to be postponed, then Canelo to go up in weight while in the meantime the IBF belt came up for grabs and the top 2 WBO guys fought for a vacant title.

If Golovkin-Canelo I was one-sided either way then Charlo would've got his shot by now. As it is he's still in limbo, Canelo could come down and face someone else in May and WBC would back him. Then WBA could call the Brant fight for Canelo, or he could unify. Or he could go back to 168. Does Charlo get his shot before 2020? Probably not.

I think Charlo is also next in line to be the IBF mandatory.

Jacobs's contract with HBO is up after Saturday, so if he really wants that fight, he could make his next bout with Charlo on FOX or Showtime (if he wins).

Samething I was thinking. He knows the Charlo's will respond. So he is baiting them into helping him keep his name out there. Reality of it is that Jacobs could have easily fought Charlo THIS fight if HE wanted to. His new promoter Eddie Hearn says Charlo has to be on DAZN to get the fight though.

Let's be honest, Danny is fighting Sergey because it was ORDERED and he's never been champion at any point in his career. The Charlos have both been champions for some time (with defenses).

I think that distinction is important. I like Danny, but it's been interesting to see certain posters become a "fan" after he signed with Matchroom/HBO lol Lots of revisionist history here.
