Well the sport has always had talkers. If Al will not answer his phone and is not willing to do business with others damn straight he should be called out on it. Just because dude is some sort of hermit does not give him a pass. He should have others talking for him then.

Yep, you figured it out. Because Haymon is so vocal about everything else, that the only reason he would be quiet about this one single thing when he isn't quiet about anything else must be the reason you gave.
