  • Looks Mickey vs Loma will happen.

Ellie mentioned talking to Arum today with Robert saying Arum told him if Loma beats Pedraza thats the fight he and Loma want next.

Robert says he is already talking to Arum and says Arum does want to make the fight. He said thats a fight that needs to happen and it will happen.

Robert also says their is some negations that need to be made and he says Arum gave him some good ideas and plans on how to make it work. He says its not just Arums way or his sides way it also will benefit Mickey.

    From @6:45-7:07 and @8:40

If he makes this thats 4 fights in a row for Loma Arum worked with another promoter. Loma vs Russell, Loma vs Rigo, and Loma vs Linares is another.

Makes me think Crawford vs Spence seems to be Spence's side that are not wanting the fight yet.

    Good.

We'll have one champion at lightweight. Lineal, WBA (Super), WBC, IBF, WBO, Ring Magazine (and hopefully the vacant IBO too, just so we don't have another fake champion walking around) undisputed champion.

Winner has a strong case for P4P #1 as well (both are already top 5 in my book).

Bobfather said in a video yesterday during Lomachenko's press day here in BOXnard, Ca. That Top Rank would be willing to work with Mikey on a ONE fight deal & would not try to tie him (Mikey) up in a long term type of deal.

Doesn't necessarily sound any closer to me, because it seems like they've said all these things before, but I sure hope it happens. Best fight that can be made, IMO.

What do you think could hold this fight back? Robert seem the most sure i seen him on a video talk about the fight. He usually says i dont think it will happen but after talking to Arum it seems that it is going in the right direction.

Mostly Arum. He holds grudges, underpays, might not want to take that big a risk with his rising star.
On the other side, Mikey is going to expect to be paid real well for this one, which is reasonable but difficult when you're negotiating with someone you historically had problems with.

I really hope it happens though.

I'll believe Mikey has a big fight when the bell rings for the first round of the fight. Mikey & his team keep boy who cried wolf's big names & he's not fighting anyone yet. He's 5 fights & 2 years & change into his comeback & not fought a big name player reallllllllllly (suppose one can count Broner, but come on not really).
