Yes, Torres needs to get back in the spitlight. He can be a serious force at 140. His chin is pretty decent; there's no shame in going down by Cotto in a fight you took on a few weeks notice. In the future, with longer training camps I expect Torres to prove he is a top 5-6ish guy at 140.

needs cleaning up a bit (from watching his fight with cotto, aint seen him fight before or since), but i'd say he'll be a big threat to the top tier of lightwelter weights, esp if cotto moves up and hatton stays up.

Torres is fun to watch though cmon. He's not that special. He's a pure ****er with little other skills. He stalks you down no doubt and he's good at that, though I can't see him taking on serious class. What really hurt him and wore him down vs Cotto more than any headshots he got hit with, were the body shots by Cotto. Hatton would kill his body, Mayweather would annhilate him Gatti style as long as he doesn't get close to him(he did have decent hand speed inside), and Castillo would annhilate his body too. I think a Gatti fight would be decent though Gatti will be KOed by him. I guess he's just overrated cause of the Cotto fight.

Couldnt disagree with you more. Torres stocks you and hes an all out ****er? But he made Cotto come to him and hurt him with counter left hooks. He is good at countering on the inside which is bad for Hatton. He has fast hands, puts his shots together nice and has good power. I dont think any of the guys you mentioned throw body shots like Cotto neither, but just cause a guy can throw body shots doesnt mean he will beat Torres either. Torres is capable of beating all them guys. Your post honestly mad eno sense, Cotto was stocking Torres and gott him against the ropes and Torres hurt him with with a right hand, counter left hooks, and a beautifull right hands uppercut combo.

Torres is one of the better punchers in boxing in my opinion. This guy throws from dynamic angles, has terrific hand speed, and we all know he has punching power. His skills are still a bit raw and his defense could get better, but he could be a threat to anyone around 140.

Cmon man, and let's not forget Cotto's chin is so damn suspect or could we say glass at this point? Paulie even rocked him at one point in the fight. That's no way to measure just how good Torres is yet. Not to mention so many South American fighters come with KO records to the states only to look bad against true competition. Torres needs to take another big fight here if he wants to stay in contentions to get another shot at a known fighter or name. Don't get me wrong, I loved that Cotto fight though I been hearing so much after since then of the guy and just think he's being overrated cause of it.
