From what I've heard in recent days NFL has Game Pass already. To me that sounds like they got the infrastructure & blueprint for doing this already. They are currently charging $100/year. They can only show old games doe is the catch, due to the middlemen buying up their rights currently. So they already got the platform.
They will surely end deals with middlemen AT SOME POINT it would seem. And when they do they'll just make Game Pass a live streaming service for $200 or $400 or some higher price per year where it insures them the profit they need.
I believe there current deals are up in 2021. That might be a lil soon to flip over, but who knows. I'd bet they don't sign as long a deal with anyone with this next deal doe even if they don't make the leap & that will very likely be there last deal with middlemen. It seems like the NFL is a lock to do this its just a matter of when. And after the NFL does it how long til the NBA &/or MLB &/or NCAA Football do it? And what position does that put DAZN & ESPN+ in besides boxing, MMA & other less popularly or more clusterf#ck-ish sports being their main products to sell to the public?
