Welllll......not exactly. He's more the exception than the standard, because the general public won't be easily fooled by another athlete like they were with Floyd. He conned a lot of people into watching him for the sake of watching him lose. That was smart on his part, but not something that makes him the standard in maximizing his abilities because people have caught on and won't allow this with another fighter for many years to come.
I know Canelo is being lined up as the next guy to go that route, but I don't see that happening. Mayweather's "Money" personal part of his career fooled us once, but only once. Nobody else can take that course and not be compared to Mayweather, feel the sting of that comparison, and ever expect to make that much money or even close.
Canelo needs to put up or shut up because the general public and the hardcore are not likely going to stand for another con job like Floyd has continued to do.
So yeah, Floyd is the exception from his 'Money May' days forward.

I would make him come to 147... lol. Zombie Canelo.. lol. Pick on someone yo own size.. Charlo, Eubank, are available and for big money.
If Mayweather is a "naturally 140" pounder why is he using illegal IVs? according to him to rehydrate, but obvious answer is he's been flushing all those PEDs he has been taking throughout his career.

If he is a naturally 140 pounder, why in hell he couldn't even make 144 for the Marquez fight?

Just like out of the blue Mayweather use Canelo vs GGG week to "Casually meet with Pacquiao for a rematch.

          So your point is?

FLOYD is the standard because nobody has ever been as successful at implementing a marketing plan as well as he has.

              1. He needed u to hate him so much that u paid to see him lose.

              2. He was smart enough to fight guys who had a country behind them like JMM,DELA HATER,COTTO,PAC,CANELO,MCGREGOR.

              3. FLOYD made them take random drug testing because he knew many were cheaters.

              4. He also got them to fight in the boxing mecca of Las Vegas where he lived only 15min from the arena.

Hate it or love it, He is ****ing brilliant!! The standard!!

That is not conning people. That is great marketing by May and his people. The only true con job Mayweather pulled on the people was the McGregor fight. It showed just how gullible casuals are and how ignorant they are of the differences and levels there are in combat sports.
