Sh^t bro I could sit here & dog 98% of fights...and sh^t sometimes I do cuz one of my basic stances is boxing matchmaking is about building names vs putting competitive fights up & down on a boxing card...but the reality is boxing is a business that involves a sport more than its a sport that involves business these days. And I try to operate under that reality more often these days then I used to.
I'm a fan of the sport much more than a bean counter, but I love the sport & understand its big business & there is strategy with moves as well & to the fighters its less about legacy & more about making money doing something they've put so much of their life into.
Would I love if boxing operated like virtually every other sport & there was elite pool of fighters in each division that had all the best guys fight each other til they lost fights & got kicked outta that pool of elite fighters, as I talk about at least once a week I think lol? Sure...f#ck yea.
Boxing would be a better sport for fans & the legacy of boxing would be more intact with discovering who the best fighters were in any era & even who was the best guy was like used to be a thing you could figure out as a boxing fan without any thought.
But good luck waiting for that being the reality despite it being beyond obvious boxing needs the ability to command some quality control at the top of the sport like the NFL, NBA, MLB & NHL along with many other sports do. And good luck "protesting" or b^tching & complaining all the time & that making it a reality. The reality is you need some mfers with skin in the game & a big bank account to make that a thing & I thought Haymon coulda been the guy to make that happen, for a second I thought that AIBA guy, who's recently gone mad or w/e, coulda been a guy to make that happen & now I think this DAZN thing could be the best bet to make that happen, but some other mfers need to make that happen is the point I'm trying to make. I don't got a billion dollars to help that happen.
Are you ******ed or just being difficult or acting confused about how boxing works for no good reason? I can think of better fights to make in every division from 105 up than the fights we are seeing. We all can.
The problem is the current structure of boxing isn't even conducive to that being a regular thing one can do. There are too many cooks in the kitchen with making fights. You need the network(s) on board, you need ABC groups on board, you need managers on board, you need promoters on board, you might even need a trainer on board, you definitely need the fighter on board & then you need to make sure the money makes sense, then you gotta make sure the OST agreement or if they'll be one at all makes sense, then you gotta agree on a OST agency, then you need to make sure any options make sense for all parties, then you gotta make sure a specific venue makes sense & then you gotta make sure a specific date makes sense.
There is a TON of hoops to jump through to make a fight. I can't imagine how time consuming & headache inducing at times making a fight would be with the bs involved with making a fight in this era.
Are you fans of the sport or his accountants?

Don't you prefer Golovkin vs Jermall Charlo next year?
