The Promotions are obviously the ones holding this back... Fighters dont give a fucc.
That said in an actual fight between Crawford Vs. Spence, I'd personally pick "Bud" Crawford to batter Spence & shut him out or possibly score a TKO late.

Spence has the size but Crawford is too good for him & will outclass him.

Is there not enough money in this fight yet? Usually when there is a ton of money to be made networks and promoters will get the fight done. Crawford just had over 2 million viewers vs benvanidez. If im not mistaken, i believe spence had around 700-800,000 views vs ocampo.

Does this mean that spence needs to raise his profile more in order for it to be a much bigger fight?

You have arum dropping spences name now left and right and for some reason im starting to think he really does want to make this fight. He is 87 years old now i think, he isnt getting any younger but then again its bob fkn arum we are talking about..

Could it be that haymon is nervous to put one of if not his very best boxer in the ring vs bud?

What do you think is really preventing this fight?
It's simple; Bob Arum doesn't play well with others, regardless of what he gets the media to spin for him.

On the merits, Spence-Crawford is a near 50/50 fight (Crawford hasn't looked great a 147lbs, while Spence has sawed through 147lbs with eyes open to 154+). The easiest way to do things would be to sit down, look over the books to get to where the split would be fair, and then have both camps, together, max out the pie. US TV would be put up to bid, and the broadcaster willing to guarantee the most money would get the event.

The problem with that is that too much of that would be taken out of Arum's hands, and his guy could legitimately get beat (leaving him with the bag and no chit to dictate anything at 147lbs with).

Arum is the problem and will always be the problem.

You are always so dead sure of your predictions as if you think you know the future before it happens. The problem is your predictions are almost always wrong. You even picked Vanes to KO GGG. Unbelievable. I don't claim to know who wins a Crawford vs fight in advance but I think you are wrong again as usual on this **** sure statement. I think Spence would knock Crawford out. I don't think Spence would have needed more than 4 rounds to KO Benavitez. MAN DOWN!!!

Spence has no size advantage over Crawford. Spence weighed 156 on fight night for his last fight and Crawford weighed 157 on fight night for Horn. Spence needs no size advantage to beat Crawford because he is a better fighter, He hits harder, takes a punch better and throws more punches per round. He will KO Crawford in my opinion. Crawford lost a round or two on the cards to that mediocre guy he just fought but he will win ever round against Spence? No, Crawford will get knocked out just like everybody else who fought Spence in the last few years. MAN DOWN!

I'm sure that Spence isn't fighting Crawford because Porter and Thurman fights make more money and are realistically better legacy fights. Yes Crawford fully unified Super Lightweight, but in a division that wasn't the most challenging to do so in at the time (hence the WBSS @140 and the 2-Round finish of Indongo by Regis Prograis) Beating Porter gets him a fight with Thurman by default (though I see Porter as having the best chance to be undisputed, just personally.) and it looks like the only reason the Mikey fight didn't happen is that December is packed in with fights. I think that fight finally happens around October nex year since Spence, Porter, Thurman and Garcia will probably fight in January. Crawford will fight Kavalauskias (or however it's spelled) since Arum will surely have unrealistic demands for the Spence fight to be made. The same can be assumed for a Garcia-Lomachenko unification at lightweight, but it is more likely to happen than Spence-Crawford because unlike Errol, Mikey isn't actually signed with Al Haymon. We'll see.

Kind of like Kell Brook vs GGG. Kell was winning but got hurt.
I agree with this, I also thought Kell Brook at that time was the best Welterweight in the world. That version would have beat Crawford too. Crawford is such a talented fighter, but he will be the smaller fighter and I don't think hes been hit to the body and had to deal with a similar southpaw that punches as hard as Spence.

Crawford does have a secret weapon if they fight. He could switch orthodox and fire off straight right hands. That would get home a lot.

Well then after all these replies, i guess no one really knows who or what is behind this fight not taking place.. So my final guess is that its one of two things.. The first is that neither Al or Bob feel the fight is as big right now as it could be a year from now... 2nd is that BOTH AL and BOB are scared **** to put their fighter in the ring vs the other as a loss is a very real possibility for both fighters. Regardless i still see spence getting bud outta there inside 8 rounds.

                    I'd say Haymon. I think Arum is confident his guy can win this one and it's the biggest fight whereas Haymon and the PBC are less into risks and even more in-house. He'd rather wait for Thurman, Porter etc;

I think Crawford wins a 9-3/10-2 type decision.
