Canelo made the best decision. They interviewed Richard Schafer and he mentioned how there was more money available in PPV, which he's right, however it's not guaranteed. Canelo has peaked as PPV performer. His last two fights did over 1M buys, but that was with Golovkin as his dance partner.

There's no guarantee that he'd approach those numbers if he fought Rocky Fielding on PPV, or Jermall Charlo or even Manny Pacquiao.

Schafer also mentioned how Canelo left a PPV void for Wilder, Mikey or Spence to take... good luck with that.

The PPV market is only reserved for a select few and even then it's not a guarantee.

Remember when everyone said canelo was ****** to stay with Golden boy during the Schaefer split? Look at canelo's paydays and how they have jumped from leaps and bounds every year and he just signed 365M guaranteed largest contract in sports history. I say Golden boy delivered big time for canelo and he made the right decision lol look where his career is at and where those guys who left Golden boy career is at. No comparison.

Yeah Schaefer came off as bitter. Golden boy is one of the premium promoters still after he left while nobody cares about his promotion company he started. Over 2 years since Schaefer launched and nobody note worthy has signed to that snake. All the fighters at Golden boy either stayed or went with haymon none of those guys signed with Schaefer who barely puts on any shows. He's become irrelevant haymon rarely even throws him a bone to promote. Golden Boy making ground breaking deals and it burns Schaefer.

                What the...

                Let's review:

                Canelo's career has skyrocketed.

Under GBP guidance, he's the WBC lineal middleweight Champion, biggest superstar in boxing and just signed a 5 year $365 million dollar deal with DAZN. His career is absolutely perfect right now.

Yea, Canelo must want out lol

Such a cheerleader , waiving your Pom poms like you’re included on the deal

The reason Canelo is where is today is because Sheaffer was with GB when Canelo was starting out. Has Canelo ever topped his PPV with Mayweather ?

I think Sheafer doing alright , He’s promotes most of the big PBC cards in LA ( Garcia / Easter , Mares /Cruz ) and it looks like his strategy is to build fighters from the ground up like Yoka and Balaros bros( you know real blue chip prospects ) , so it might be a little too early to tell

The fact is the man you worship ( Oscar ) is only staying afloat in the business because of Canelo who was built by Sheaffer while Oscar was going on binges dressing like a women. But he’s done a great job leveraging Canelo into still being relevant, but once Canelos gone probably so is GB

The rest of GB stable is basically sh.it and their next prized possession Ryan Garcia is a fraud and will be exposed soon enough
