We guarantee you a five year contract at little money, but you promise to do everything we tell you, and we can fire you at will, with no excuses, with this little severance package, unless we don’t want to pay you.
    Absolutely.
Canelo is at a different level though. He certainly doesn't need DAZN, they need him. This could be a situation like where the wrestler Steve Austin got hurt with 2 years left on his contract and they had the option to either buy out the rest of his contract or pay him to just show up even though he wasn't wrestling. When you're at a certain level, you call the shots. I'm curious as to what the contact says vs what fans on here decide it says (not talking about you ).

I think one of the best examples of the star having control is the fact that Floyd was able to fight Berto for his last contractually obligated showtime fight. I heard they were very pissed about that.

Star decide the terms of their contract. Lawyers, and sports agents know the business inside and out. They understand revenue streams, residues, branding, and all the intangibles.

I deliver a project, and hand it over to the team that will support it.

Yeah, we got a lot of sports agents and contract attorneys on this site.

You missed the point completely.. I’ve nothing in common. I make nothing, but I’m an expat in japan, and I’ve made more than you’ll ever make. Lmao.

Canelo is da man, dictates the terms.
I get terms dictated to me, take it or leave it.

Never claimed to be close on any level. Can you read?
Know what an expat is? Ever signed a 20 page contract for an upper management position and got paid to move overseas?

            Thoughts?
It matters not. It's business as usual. All he has to do is not not get knocked out and he's guaranteed a decision win or a draw at the least. No real risk there.

            The issue is........

WTF is the money coming from in order to pay him 30 million per fight without PPV? Impossible. This is a fail in the making I'm afraid.

Canelo is a king. He does what he wants.

I’m not bragging about my job.. I calling lil know it all kids, who never signed any contacts for anything.

                That’s it. That’s my point.
The most kids have signed are the terms of service on websites they join.

There's no doubt there are stipulations to the contract, just like there is with every major contract.

The 11 fight, 365mil is unquestionably based on certain numbers, wins etc being hit.

Likely DAZN has committed a minimum pr Canelo fight, but can opt out of the agreement on a fight by fight basis.

                    So nothing changes

It’s been proven if he gets damn near shut out he’ll get a MD with the judges handing him at least 3-4 rounds just for showing up

If Canelo goes The distance and loses 7-9 rounds he gets a at worst a draw or a narrow victory
I mean a judge gave him 10 rounds in the first Gennady fight and 9 rounds in the Lara fight

the judges can’t possibly be more generous towards Canelo then they already are even with a new deal , it’ll just be more of the same

It’s Good for Canelos bank acct and legacy , bad for the legitimacy of the sport

But that's beyond the point anyways. Canelo is only a dictator of terms because Golden Girl has bought many, many judges scorecards. GGG is the real MW champ.
