Fighting Murata who is lower ranked then Charlo, Andrade or Jacobs and who nobody outside of Japan knows in a fight that will air on Japan time zone so it will do no business in the US airing on ESPN at like 8 or 9am on sunday? For a minor belt that doesn't even guarantee he is the mandatory for the real WBA belt because Lemieux is already the WBA mandatory so the winner will be behind Lemieux in line for a title shot. Andrade and Jacobs will have the belts and you beat Charlo you get a guaranteed mandatory shot at canelo the real money fight. But those are all real fights he could lose so he won't take them. GGG resume is garbage and he's digging in the dumpster for the easiest fight he can find. It's the story of his career he never dared to be great wasted too many years fighting the Murata of the world's LMAO

This has been obvious for some time now. g only faces tomato cans, unless he makes over $10 million for one fight. espn is the only network that will air every g vs. the bum of the month fight. DAZN and Showtime would demand g fight a top opponent at some point.

Showtime, Fox, and DAZN will show some mismatches, and many good to great fights. espn won't pay for Bummed or g to fight any opponent in the top five of the division. espn can only afford mismatches, and g only fights mismatches. Its a match made in heaven.

This isn't that bad of a fight. Its basically the equivalent of Canelo facing Fielding. Easy money. If GGG can make some good cash fighting in Japan then why wouldn't he do it? GGG has actually proved to be a smart businessman. He waited around long enough at 160 for those two big Canelo paydays, now he's set for life. He wouldn't have gotten that kind of money fighting Andre Ward.

Canelo won and is the young champ taking a victory lap on short turnaround for 36M and atleast moving up in weight. GGG is coming off a loss up there in age needs to redeem himself or win back a major belt this does neither. It's not short turnaround he has months to find the best fight. And he will probably make no more then 5M for this fight that will rely 100% on Japan paying for it. He's going to be the B side to Murata just like he had to go the UK and be the B side to Brook. It will do no business in other markets especially the US because of the Japan time zone difference. This fight only makes sense because Murata is the easiest fight.

And yeah he would of gotten more money if he beat ward...but we all know he would of lost that fight so ducking taking easy fights and waiting to cash out with Canelo is how he played it. History will not look back fondly on GGG because he didn't take the risks or make the concessions to land better fights to get better wins on his resume. And choosing Murata when you have all this time and so many better fighters available is just another example.

Pussie g ducking Charlo like expected. Begged Canelo for a shot took very low tier fighters outside of Jacobs. Proceeded to get his ass beat by Canelo.

Now trying to take soft touches praying for a Canelo trilogy just to lose again. Lil g needs to man up and face Charlo.

That is basically what Golovkin has done for most of his career.

After getting his two money fights with Canelo, he's back to fighting who he likes to fight...light touches.

He was doing that up until 2017

Disappointed in Ggg... I really wanted to see him vs Charlo, I hope Canelo doesn't give him the rematch and fight Charlo instead.

Murata? Damnit was really hoping he would destroy Charlo instead. Murata isnt going 12 rounds against 1
