This isn't that bad of a fight. Its basically the equivalent of Canelo facing Fielding. Easy money. If GGG can make some good cash fighting in Japan then why wouldn't he do it? GGG has actually proved to be a smart businessman. He waited around long enough at 160 for those two big Canelo paydays, now he's set for life. He wouldn't have gotten that kind of money fighting Andre Ward.

After getting his two money fights with Canelo, he's back to fighting who he likes to fight...light touches.

Knew GGG wasn't going to fight Charlo. At his age he could decide any fight could be the last, so why would he want to work his way back into contention via eliminator for a title shot if he could get one direct via a different route?
Seems Murata is the favoured option, but it was only ever gonna be a choice of the winners of Murata/Brant, Jacobs/Derev and Andrade/Kautondokwa (now Sauders has fecked up). Murata-GGG would do huge numbers over in Tokyo so makes makes most sense financially outside of another direct re-match with Canelo.

It's not his age its his limited skills that is avoiding Jermall Charlo. If he wants Nelo he still has to pass through Jermall….LOL

Loeffler been talking about this fight fight for awhile , Supposedly it’s a big $ fight if held in Japan and broadcast on ESPn in the States

Not going to lie , Wouldn’t he that amped for this fight and a worthless 2nd tier title

But if Canelo gets a pass for Feilding , then I guess a aging Gennady should get a pass for this if it happens

But Gennady was never going to fight Charlo next ( if ever ) and if Jacobs , Andrade and Canelo are all on DAZN that probably isn’t a option either unless he signed up over there

The best available options as far as $ and legitimate names are probably Saunders and then Murata if he wins
