    Rankings

I don't understand how a particular boxer (I'll use Deontay Wilder as an example: He is the WBC champ, yet ) can be champion in one or more governing bodies, yet not even ranked in any of the other bodies. The same can be said when a boxer is ranked in one or more body, yet is nowhere to be seen in the others. Someone please explain how this happens. Thanks.

The big four are not ranking the entire division, they're ranking contenders following a specific path to their own belts. The WBC, WBA, IBF, and WBO all recognize each other's champions and are thus they are not usually considered contenders. The IBO also doesn't rank the champions of the big four, but the big four do not care about the IBO champions.

If you want rankings that look at everyone, look at:
    Transnational Boxing Rankings Board
    The Ring
    BoxRec

None of the 4 important alphabet groups rank the champions of the other 3. It's just the way it is, was and always will be. Ring, Boxrec and others rank everyone champions included. A boxer could be a champion but if ring or boxrec doesn't think he is that good he may not even be in their top 10.

basically, I can be ranked #4 with the WBC and not in the other 3 bodies if I only fight WBC fighters, and climb their rankings. Also, if I'm WBC champion, I'm no longer ranked by the other bodies since I am a champion and not a contender, I am not fighting ranked fighters, I'm facing challengers for my title.

if you want full rankings, use tbrb, ring, espn, etc. but the ABC groups will only give their own personal rankings which is how you'll see names on there that make no sense to you (Like Fres Oquendo and Trevor Bryan in the top 3 WBA rankings)
