It's not a we're not winning so we don't care thing like y'all claim all the time in just about every sport we don't win at. It's because you guys, from the American perspective, are soft. We don't watch soccer in the states because soccer is a pansy boy sport about equal to volleyball. It's a lady sport. Same mentality bud. If Joshua wants some American presence he is going to have to convince the American audience he isn't a tinkerbell. Nothing else will get him there.

11 minutes!!!! per game! Shocking. Rugby players are playing high impact contact sport for 80 minutes.
By your definition, NFL is the equivalent to 1/8th of Rugby.
Now convince me that Wilder isn't a 'Tinkerbell'.Comment

Its funny that you use American 'football' as a comparative opposite of English Football. Would it not be more prudent to compare the levels of toughness required to play Rugby against NFL?

Now convince me that Wilder isn't a 'Tinkerbell'.Tinkerbell, I'll get to that I reckon but first I'm have some trouble understanding what you mean to say to me. I am American bubba, ya know we is slow....see so damn dumb as hell
American Football, the term, is what I've been told youse guy call our NFL, is this correct? I didn't compare NFL football to anything actually.
I didn't speak about the NFL, but if you read my next post you'll realize you'll get no argument out of me. I didn't mean to tell you your sports are lady sports I meant to tell you the American perspective of your sports is they're lady sports.
I compared soccer, futbol if you like, to volleyball as being feminine in American eyes. It really doesn't have anything to do with how rough either sport is. It has to do with American outlook...I dunno what y'all call volleyball, I only picked up futbol from a two week stay in Germany.
I didn't mean to offend y'all. Really and truly. I just meant to clarify the juxtaposition between the culture because no one else seems willing. I guess it's because it's difficult to not shoot the messenger yeah?
Anyway, I'm sure what you want is me to actually address football vs rugby? In my last post I explained more fully so if you want more on it go read that'en, but I do not watch ball and goal sports. They are all very boring and very much girl games to me.
I am a combat and extreme sports fan, throw strong man on there and that's all I give a damn about. I promise you this, both Eddie Hall and Brian Shaw would crush who ever you reckon is your baddest rugby fella and if they can't then Wilder and Joshua can. I'm just not into "Mah look at me, ain't I good at recess" ....do y'all do recess? Surely you have an outside break time during your elementary school years yes? What makes your rugby players or our NFL players anymore then glorified sandbox heroes?
Not my deal my man....if you want to make fun of pansies who play with balls I'm your ally at all times, but you can't expect me to give a **** about football because I'm American and your British and you say rugby's the manlier sport. I don't give a damn, that's just being queen of the puffs!
Why Deontay Wilder is no Tinkerbell nor Buttercup:
First in a conversation when we're talking about balls, nfl, and rugby, he's the athlete in a man's sport. Champion in fact....c'mon in the big scheme no way Wilder's a bell. He can only be tinkerbelled by the juxtaposition of a superior fighter. Not even Eddie Hall's badass is bad enough. Either Joshua or Fury bells him....that's a short ****in' list man.
No one in boxing history uses sword and shield boxing outside of bare knucklers, ancients, Marciano, and Wilder. Short list because most people who ever boxed ever no matter what rule set or era you choose need to stick to the basic fundamentals of the defense driven aspects of the sport. Yes, including the bare knuckle era from Figg through Mace. I know people don't think of them as defensive, but Mendoza invented most of what we call defense in the 1790s.
Notice the difference in Marciano's footwork and Frazier footwork. Marciano is sword and shielding his way in while Frazier is all classic proper form. Marciano crosses his legs way more than Frazier because he's covering a greater distance. The reason Joe didn't do it is because he's a better boxer, he's not willing to give up a boxing posture and position for a posture and position that will get him hit but also offers an absurd power advantage. Joe's not into it and Joe's no ****in' Tinkerbell. Marciano had the tank to bring the havoc alone, and alone he rests as the single, only, retired and never beaten HW champion in the entire queensberry era. But him era were weak? Yeah...weak eras happen bubba, why do boxer always pick up al L regardless of how weak their era is?
Then came Wilder. A new practitioner of sword and shield. All wrong by every metric you've ever been told to measure. Perhaps it's your measuring stick that's wrong not mister Wilder?
Sword and Shield in a nutshell. Take dangerous position, offer dangerous posture, bait deficiency, study the attack, then when your opponent believes it's them making you struggle hit them with something perfect.
Marciano and Wilder are wild from bell to bell, except the sequence when Marciano does things like cut off Joe Walcott's Sucka Punch with timing, speed, accuracy, posture, and position. It's perfect when it's launched. Similar to the hand that put down Szpilka.
With Deontay we have on film a fight where he actually made the switch. You can see Deontay give up on sword and shield and revert to boxing against Stiverne in the first fight. If you're watching Deontay lose on points, he has not made the shift to points fighting, and he does achieve a picture-esqu KO...is it him who has wrong at any point in that fight?
Not a tinkerbell because he's one of the very few practitioners of the roughest version of boxing and he's very good at what he does even if that isn't what you want to see.
Boxing was invented by the spartans to thicken skulls, and improve the power of blows...Wilder and Marciano fight like Spartans. They're the only ones. It's why he comes in a gladiator mask. He's fully aware he's a throwback and this ****, outside of Marciano, has not been seen since the days of Yankee Sullivan.
Next time you see Wilder you think on that movie 300. Go on and picture cliche Spartan gear on Marciano or Wilder and tell me Rocky isn't crouching exactly like a Spartan. Wilder ain't driving that right like a spear?
Joshua is a better boxer than Wilder....if you actually knew your history you'd realize that statement is a different wording for Joshua uses a skillset that's for weaker men than Wilder. Tinkerbell.Comment

1. You cannot attempt to take ambassadorial about the differences of the British and American culture and not expect a bit of return fire, but fair enough, if you didn't mean to antagonize us 'savage' Brits, then cool, I will back down and get back in my box.
2. Correct, you didn't reference NFL so I apologise for bringing that in. I guess it seems to be the stereotypical reference when it comes to comparing US and British sports, the same as you did for Football so sorry about that.
3. I don't think that ALL Americans are dumb. I've travelled around the US a lot, have American in-law family and served with American military and there are some clever folks.
4. I won't ever see Wilder anywhere near to being a Spartan. Partly because I can't see anything other than that Wilder Woman poster that is floating around on here. But Wilder is in this game for himself (and his family) which then would lead anyone to assume that its only about the money. So, no way is he a Spartan...we could argue this all day.
5. Wilder's technique is maverick and I think, once it is found out, possibly by Fury, then he will disappear quickly. Mainly because my view is that if he loses, it appears as if the average US fan will turn their backs on him and try to distance themselves from any comment saying that Wilder was elite.
6. You have good knowledge of the history of boxing but you use the word 'Juxtaposition' too much. Like anyone else who read this, I had to look up what that meant, i thought it was a made up word from Alice in Wonderland or something.

There was a lot to read there so I'll try and summarise my response as best I can...if I'm honest, I skim read most of it.

Tinkerbell.
Damn, y'all don't use juxta or juxta is an old antiquated word my obsolete ass needs to drop if I mean to speak on current events? I'm just an old school fool.
Money, glory, fortune, fame, these thing have always been entitled to the champ. To the victor go the spoils and woe to the vanquished. Euthymos was defied in his own lifetime. He didn't have fanboys, he had straight up, unabashed, worshippers.
But yeah, not ancient enough and you're right to reign me in. Spartans do not box for sport. They tried it for a short period and did not like that when they refuse to quit it was seen as bad sportsmanship by the fellow greek city-states or conquered areas. Most of the champs come from anatolia, elis, rhodes, and so on with the popular and familiar sounding states until you hit the Roman era....to be honest I can't actually even think of a single Spartan champion. Doesn't mean they couldn't box, they box for Aries himself.
So yeah, you're 100% right and you don't even need money to be brought into it. Spartans do not participate if quitting is an option.
I'm rambling again ain't I? Alright one last history tidbit and I'll stfu:
I might have shat the bed with the Sparta drop. How about instead of a step back I shoot above? Remember old Euthy? This is how gods fight, yeah? Apollo does not play *** boxing. Glaukos does not prance and dance. Wilder is a destroyer of men. Come December first Fury will find safety and security are for the meek and this is not Christ's sport. Lord Apollo will impose and when Wilder spanks Tyson you'd be right to claim divine intervention.
yes I was inspired by Charles Martin, fella makes me laugh.
