One thing I never understood on HBO was why would you couple boxing with some rom com or drama film when the demos aren't aligned? It was weird to me. I felt like it should've always been an action movie as lead in.
I agree with u. Boxing should have been paired with real sports or hard knocks when possible

Even worse lol. Those were fluke numbers that fight aired at the end of the Olympics. It had nothing to do with boxing.

Yeah, that too. And I guess I'm not used to commercial breaks during big boxing fights. I don't like the production of the ESPN telecast either. But it is what it is.

Still 6 mil people tuned in. Just like 2 mil tuned in to watch Canelo Kirkland after the May/Pac replay. JUst like people tune in to TR cards after a major college football game. no different

If Crawford was a Brit fighting in UK it might get close to that. Seems to be a higher ratio of boxing fans in comparisson to total population over here than Stateside.

Just shows that there are still plenty of Boxing fams in the States, but maybe the PPV fees are too high over there. PPV fees over here in UK are around £20 which i think is about $31 - great value compared to the prices i've heard for Mayweather or Canelo fights in the last few years.

                  No. he wouldn't.

Comparing his drawing power and assimilating it to that of him being UK fighter shows he wouldn't get anywhere near it. Anthony Joshua's highest is 1.5 ..why would bud get close to 2.2 just by being a Brit when his popularity doesn't translate to a buying public? His previous PPV was very very poor .

There are multiple fighters from the US who could go into a PPV now and throw out higher buyrates than a Crawford PPV.

Before it's said... Simply suggesting that because of the British fans or if he was promoted by Hearn or on sky or whatever etc etc.. is akin to me saying if my auntie had a **** she would be my uncle.

No fighters in the UK..or any fighter not British suddenly becoming British would get near 2.2 other than AJ Vs Wilder

I don't mind the PPV price to be honest. While you are correct that it is way overpriced compared to what you guys pay, we also don't have all that many of them now that Mayweather/Pacman are pretty much done. We will have had two PPVs all year, while there are almost 10 PPVs in the UK, possibly more. Heck, you guys have like four or five in a two month period which is crazy. Usyk/Bellew, Whyte/Chisora, Frampton/Warrington and Wilder/Fury.

Boxing is going to be just fine stateside. The ESPN and FOX deals will help it out, especially if we get top level match ups.

Pacquiao fanbase got passed on to Horn via their title fight and than Horn passed those fans to Bud via their title fight. Arum lost Pacman but kept a big chunk of his fanbase. End of the day, good fkn job Bob!
